hmmm...USPS...in their FAQ they recommend using UPS with their Express Shipping though. but i guess that would be really expensive.
To get their quote on shipping...just sign up as member and check out the item to see?

@Bibima

Hi, u interested in NP8662 too.. actually I am interested too but I need to save some money for the next 2 months or so,

but last week, Out of curiousity, I email to enquire about this model but they replied will need to wait till early April to get ur lappy if u order now bcos Clevo has stopped shipping the models to Sager due to a change in graphic cards (GTX260M) for NP8662.

BTW, if u wanna buy.. u wanna buy the matte display (1900X1200) or glossy display (1680X1050)? Which is better?

Yea, the np8660 page now redirects user to the np8662, thank god, that it's possible to upgrade the video card on the Np8660, or else, it would've been a real turn off.

I would go for the glossy display. It makes the display more sharp and clear. That's for me. but some people go for the matte display because of the glare. I really don't mind it...depends on how u angle the display.

I was doing more browsing and came across Sager NP5797....bigger screen and better Gpu... the 280M. I might get that instead...problem is it's heavy! and i travel a lot.

On their spec page....it shows the GT9800 GTX but on their customize and buy page...it's the 280M. I think they are upgrading the GPU for it. the price for my spec would be about USD1900 excluding shipping of USD200.

this would be helpful for MGPU comparison....http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-G.....-List.844.0.html

From it...the 9800GTX and the 280M is a huge leap.

yep, but you wont really see the difference on a 15/17" screen.

for comparison, Dell 24" Monitors use 1920x1200 native reso tongue.gif

I'm going to the UK for holidays soon. Are there any resellers of either Clevo or Sager there?

hi Corad,

I need ur advice here as I am quite keen on model NP8660.

Since your lappy is just a 15.4" but you opted for 1920X1200, would it be too small for text reading and internet browsing? Do you need to zoom everytime you surf net or word processing tasks? Why wouldn't you just go for 1680X1040 initially?

Its the NP8662 now smile.gif

In normal usage(email, word processing etc) everything will look the same. Dosent matter if its 1920x1200 or 1280x800

only when it comes to games, the edges will become slightly smoother. I choose that option because its really really troublesome to upgrade the monitor on your own tongue.gif

I actually do, not the monitor, but just the GPU, and maybe CPU in the future. It's pretty modular so it'll be easy. Can't say the same for the monitor though, Have a feeling you'll have to dismantle the whole laptop before you can release the ribbon cable of the LCD from the mobo.

For those who purchase their sager....

Can I have measurements (Height x Length x Width) of the box that was delivered to your home? And the weight too.

Want to ask a friend of mine to get it back for me from the states.

thanks

Nope, i'm not thinking of upgrading anything for the next few years. you can replace the monitor, but its just as hard buying one as fitting it on tongue.gif

@WildChai
its about 3/4 the size of a fruit box. like when you buy apples in bulk. think it was around 7Kg ?

staying in uni accommodation so din't keep the boxes

for an integrated chip, the 9400M is ahead of the rest.

and when you get bored of it, switch if off and start using those 280GTX's in SLi tongue.gif

I'll be looking forward for the bios update/flash support for gtx 280m in np9262 tongue.gif . Accordingly there shouldn't be a problem fitting gtx 280m sli in np9262 only awaiting clevo to officially anounce it and release the bios support drool.gif although the chances looks kinna bleak for clevo to continue upgrade support for d900/901c series. sweat.gif
