How long does it take from the day Xoticpc receives the payment till the day the lappie arrives at our house? Getting anxious... thumbup.gif
*
Well officially mine took about 16 days from the day payment received acknowledgement by xoticpc till delivery to my house(including weekends). cool2.gif wink.gif

As far as I'm concern, Malaysia does not charge any tax for importing computer goods.
*
I second to what ni-c mentioned above. As far as i'm concerned, there will be no tax of whatsoever for laptop imported provided it is for personal use and in a single quantity at a time brows.gif . If u have the time, do go through our thread here as this issue was clearly clarified here=none of us here had paid/have to pay any tax of whatsoever for our laptop. thumbup.gif rclxms.gif

Well even if they(xoticpc) do set up a booth in this PC fair without any permanent branch here in m'sia, i believe the laptop price will much more expensive than the price displayed on their website.

This is due to considering transportation(2 way), accomodation and misc costs involved for them to set up a temporary booth here and to bring over the laptops just for our pcfair not to mention other related issues like warranty and risk of uncertain market demand here.

Conclusion = not practical/not possible if they have yet to set up a permanent banch here in m'sia.

At least consumers can feel the lappy, see their physical lappy with their own eyes before placing their orders rite?
*
well u forgot something, there is always both consumer and seller in a buy sell trade so your comment are bias only towards consumer and that ain't fair logically. The world aint revolving around a single person/party only so open up your mind and think before posting what's on your mind doh.gif tongue.gif .

Well all of us(sager owners who ordered from xoticpc) here can't see our laptops or feel it 'physically' before buying too, but in the end we still bought it right? Use your logic bro. thumbup.gif

Is anyone using www.maybank2u.com.my to do a wire transfer to XOTIC? It seems that they don't accept credit card for international orders =/. I need some guidance on the wire transfer process lol

Browse through the sager thread, keep a lookout for my posting as i posted here my dealings using maybank2u.com. Max transaction per day rm10k.

Do we look alike your 'servants'? shakehead.gif . You can check at xoticpc.com with just a few click of the mouse and an internet connection.

But there aren't 'many' available choices which can fit in your mentioned budget though. Be a grown up and do your own homework before asking posting any too simple enquiries. whistling.gif

Seems like you are not only 'short' of it knowledge but in english as well. Can't u at least write a proper sentence? I'm a civil eng. but it doesn't limit my it knowledge nor my fluency in english lol.

Loreki,

U can email them(xoticpc) for more info regarding the status of your laptop.

For mine, i received 3 email updates which basically includes phase 1-acknowledgement of payment received, phase 2-building your laptop/burn in/test and etc, phase 3- laptop will be shipped in 24-48 hours and finally phase 4-laptop shipped. Following will be updates from USPS if u are using it as well.

Rest be assured that they(xoticpc) will reply every single mail u send to them as they did to mine.

I sent a couple of emails myself in between the 4 phases due to anxiety(1st time dealing/importing an item from oversea through the net and somemore cost more than 10k tongue.gif ).

Just my 2 cent. thumbup.gif

he/she seems to be bringing Sagers into Malaysia.

I would advise against using a 3rd party to import your laptops into Malaysia. They will be liable to customs tax as the laptop is resold here.

oh....sry sry....i thought the other way sweat.gif
i heard from other forum they say the speaker volume for some sager model is quite soft and not that good, but who cares about onboard speaker when you can use headset or external speaker biggrin.gif
*
Like what unclegoldfish said the onboard speaker itself depends on which model u are refering to. Mine comes with 4 built in speakers and by far the sound produced are the best among all my previously owned lappies which includes dell and hp. Further to this i did make a side by side comparison with my sony ar59gu and can only conclude that my sager speaker sounds fuller, more vibrant and even bassy at some songs instead of flat and singular sound which are common among laptops. Besides the sound is clearer with no distortion at full blast not to mention considerable louder as well. Of course my sony only got 2 built in speakers tongue.gif . Currently i'm listening to my favourites without any external speaker or headphone as it is not necessary unless u are going for dance or disco type songs where bass is the main concern. wink.gif

FYI all personal laptops are excluded from Malaysia's taxation system which includes imported one. Dont be clouded by the rumours as such laptop tax will be imposed if u import a laptop from oversea.

You sure bout this bro??

Been looking for gaming laptop for a while now... if what you said is true then that means I only need to pay for the price of the lappy (convert to $) and shipping (also in $)??
*
Confirmed. If u ordered from the reseller, all u need to pay is the price of the laptop itself as stated in the website before or after customization. Nothing more nothing less and of course zero for the tax. For Sager u can either get it from mucro or xoticpc. thumbup.gif

Hey,

How'sa your sagers treating you guys? I am looking to get a new lappie....my 8600GT is already dated. Torn between the Sager NP8690 with 3yrs warranty from mucro and sager. OR the Alienware M15x also with 3yrs warranty. Both prices came to about the same but only one...ONE major difference....the GPU....280 on sager and 260 on AW.

Cripes...from the benchmarks i can see that the 260 falls behind about 10 places from the 280.

Any inputs?
*
My sony's using 8600gt as well but i'm not using it for gaming though, more on movies and so. tongue.gif . As for my np9262, so far no issues of whatever sort and currently still capable of playing the latest games as such RE5 on highest setting without any lag or so wink.gif . The built in fans are so far doing an excellent job of keeping my gc, hardisk and cpu at an ambient temperature and it never went beyond 70 degree celcius no matter how long i played. As for benchmark, check it out at post your mobile benchie section. thumbup.gif

if i had to choose between M17x GTX280M SLi and Sager 18.6" GTX280M SLi(i forgot the name, sorry), i totally prefer M17x.
but for 15" laptop, i surely choose Sager NP8690 due to better GPU. laugh.gif

about the heating, for me both of them already in A level.
it just a matter between A+ or just normal A.

just my two cents though~ smile.gif

To each their own and bro i think u are a little lost here. We are Sagerians here in the world of Sagers...aw fanboys shoo shoo back your own aw thread... laugh.gif

Weight wise = Sager>Aw
Warranty wise = U can get easier dealing with warranty issues from Aw but Sager is built to last i must say so to each their own. (Mine still at its best with totally zero issues and still plays the latest games at highest setting tongue.gif )
Design = Again to each their own. Get Aw if u are a fan of bling bling laptops or get Sager for its classy and professional looks.
Battery life = no comment as it depends pretty much on how u utilized it.

Cheers... thumbup.gif

Darn it, the np9850 looks so appealing although it comes with 18.4 inches screen size. Tempting to get it although my current lappy is more than capable to play all new games at highest setting for months to come. Customized it to my prefered set up and bang the price was 14.5k. A little cheaper even when compared to what i paid for my NP9262 ouch.

not really, only by comparing can you be sure you're getting the best deal smile.gif

Alienware is a branded good. You're paying for the recognition.
Sager is a niche brand. You pay for the parts thats inside.

My personal view is that, 3 years from now ... I'll still be bringing my Sager around. it might be old tech, but at least it'll still look smart  tongue.gif

but enough of this alienware bashing ...  has anyone here gotten their sager a cooler before ?  whistling.gif  whistling.gif
*
True, before i decided to buy the sager lappie, i did a thorough comparison in between aw and sager. The main turnabout points of which have my leaning towards sager are of its ability to upgrade easily, more durable, less problems arised, better parts and of course i'm a performance guy icon_rolleyes.gif .

I'm using Zalman NC-2000 to pair with my np9262. Its been doing a good job keeping the temperature at bay and below 70 though the left palm area do warm up a little after 6 hours of gaming non stop.
