We can "pricematch" anyones price if the shipping option used is POS Malaysia.
Just ask if you were quoted where, when and how much and we *should* be able to offer a lower price provided the shipping used is POS Malaysia. Please remember that our costs are higher because we are using experienced service centres and we need to pay them everytime you have a warranty issue. Also, we have to use Sager's warranties as it is safer to get cover from them.
When you have serious warranty problems, we will ask you to send the laptop/defective part to our office in Singapore, you do not need to send back to the USA. Shipping back to you is free as long as it is covered during warranty period. You might need to pay for shipping to the USA if you are using a US reseller.
Remember our prices have the OS included and you need to remove the OS for a better comparison with the US resellers.

Also Sager says physical damage is not covered so it would be best if you call up a local insurance company to cover the accidental/physical damage for your laptop.

If you buy in Singapore you need to pay GST, Singapore GST refund is available at the airport.

I have already placed an order for 8170.
Anxiously waiting mine too.

P/S
I think 8170 bios will not work on 8150.
It has different chipset, HM67 & HM65.

nVidia just launched GTX485 2 weeks ago.
It is still uncontested as we speak.
Radeon 6970 is nowhere to be seen too.
I guess nVidia is not in the rush to launch GTX5xx.
We'll prolly see that in next 6 months.

Oh don't worry about that. The BIOS for the 8150 and 8130 supports dual HDDs stated in LPC-Digital, a US reseller.

"In addition to the cutting edge processor and graphics technology, the unit also features a breath-taking 15.6” Full HD 16:9 Wide screen (1920x1080) LED-Backlit Display display to provide the eye-popping visuals that will make your gaming experience complete, multiple Hard Drives with RAID capable, 2.0 Megapxiel high resolution video camera, and Fingerprint Reader for security and easy log in.

Also in XoticPC, they provide HDD caddy slots to replace the CD drives as an option during customization.

GTX 480m? You sure? Because the models i saw were the GTX 460m and the 485m.

I am pretty sure that the current NP8150 support future GPU revisions, as they are more likely to be MXM 3.0 Type B GPU slots in the Sagers. Still a hunch though.

I was thinking of getting the NP8170-S1 from cubehub but was wondering if it was worth it to get it upgraded from GTX 470M to GTX 485M.. Will there be substantially differences in computing experience? Is there anything coming out in the near future that may compete with Sager's specifications? After all, the price isn't that cheap

You are paying for the best out there right now if you are given the green light on the GTX 485m. This V12 engine + the Sandy Bridge 2920XM , currently tops the charts in benchmarking for the mobile industry. Just this single card and the processor, beats SLI configs in laptops, and even some desktop rigs. Check out the graph from the source below.
The test system is an NP8150 by the way.

What can compete with Sager's specifications...probably Alienware, and the latter half of consumer laptops. However since Sagers are meant to be upgradable, these models will last pretty long and I don't think anyone will topple them off anytime soon as well.

Probably to be released soon are AMD/ATi's Radeon 6970m 6950m (mid year ish) and the GTX 580m (no ETA yet). The 6970m would be sliiiightly less than the GTX485 I am presuming, but definitely higher than the GTX470m

Thanks for ur opinion. I was thinking of leaving the chip as the stock one which is this "2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM Processor ( 6MB L3 Cache, 2.00GHz)" and fork out the additional cash for the graphics.. Would that be an alright decision?

NP8150 version is a good choice if you wants to upgrade your CPU+GPU to newer one smile.gif

You mean upgrade the CPU from Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge?
Unlikely.
Current Sandy Bridge is run on Huron River (Series 6 chipset).
Ivy Bridge will run on Chief River (Series 7 chipset).
Probably a different CPU socket.

It's possible to upgrade the GPU though.
