Suppose to be an interesting card to overclock. If anyone is not going to, its not worth the money to upgrade from 9800 to 2XX.

yeah, i thought so too, after knowing that there are two version of the graphic card... lolz... never thought that would happen. Pretty slick move for nvidia~~

im much more interested in Ocing the card, i wonder how well the performance would increase biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

heya~~ wow seems many people are much interested in Sager/Clevo notebook yeah biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

i've been trying to find a seller from notebookreview forum, for the GTX 280M... i know some people~~ said that the upgrade isnt that much of a huge performance gap since, it is only version of MXM 2.1, but i still want it. It's so tempting and yet frustrated!!

i dont think malaysia have any reseller who sells notebook graphic card, right???

so anyone getting the D900F/Sager NP9280 with the new i7 desktop CPU lolz!!! huhuhuhu...

and one more thing, since there have been the new 500GB 7200RPM, is there any possibility that there will be any heat problem?? i wanted to buy it but worried that there will be heat problem even though im using a cooler notebook.

I'm expecting the arrival of my GTX 280m from R&J Tech next week. So if you'd really like to buy one, get it from RJ Tech. Doesn't come cheaply though.

I'd say the difference in performance between 2 mxm structure of the gtx 280m MAY be negligible, might be wrong though. I see that you have a 9800m GTX, so I think the performance increase isn't going to be big. However I am currently utilizing a 9800m GTS. 64 shaders vs 128 shaders, there got to be something right?

ah yes, i have also heard from other buyer about RJ tech, been pondering it for awhile though, because i have some eager seller to sell an GTX 280m lolz. though the huge price gap between RJ Tech and The reseller are kinda huge. so im still thinking about it. hmm.gif

anyway, an upgrade from the 9800m GTS to the GTX 280M will make a huge differences in the performance!! surely it will be much more stable and you can enjoy a much better gaming experience with it!! thumbup.gif

Yea, The only thing lacking in my system now is processing power. With all the refresh done by Intel, I was hoping the prices of processors would drop considerably... but I guess that won't be the case.

do you upgrade the processor yourself??? technically, is it hard? im rather interested in this matter... lolz... so which processor do you intend on getting?

Finally got the GTX 280m in my laptop, here're some screenshots.

Clocks @ 550/1350/920 EDITED [10 June 2009]

I've underclocked the core and shader as I'm using setFSB to overclock my CPU, thereby overclocking the core and shader. The underclock was done so that the clocks gained via the increased FSB balance out. I've looped each test except for the CPU ones 50 times, total hours taken to accomplish all the tests were 5 hours +. The maximum temp I got from the GPU-Z log was 81c, not too shabby for a high end card huh? The 3d mark 06 score is 10500, give or take 50 points. It may seem like there's not much gain from the 9800m GTS O/C (10200), however, in-game performance wise, this thing blew the 9800m GTS away. I'm done with ATItool's artifact scanning, ran it for 3 hours and no error encountered, with a stable temp of 77-78C. I guess this proves that the GTX 280m is stable in the NP8660, eh?
