I own cyrus cd 7Q ( that's like between 6Se and the latest 8se)
It's always my dream of owning a Cyrus.
I used to own a Cyrus straight line, which was the cheapest Integrate amp from the company.
Sound quality for the Cyrus cd7Q : well, this came out in 2002 or was it 2003. It's fast, tight and really musical. It does play well with Classical music, but i have lots of rock and jazz cds, so it does it job well for those kind of music.
It can't compare to their latest models. (Cyrus CD Xt SE /8se/6se)
Sometimes, I wish that Cyrus would add a SACD player in there, just to please the customers...
Well, it's certainly a good player to own. great design...small...etc but, I think in the coming years, I might change and own another brand.
i'm quite pleased with my cyrus amp + power supply (PSX-R) hooked to it.
music is really good with a punch and warmish tone. for now i'm just getting the source from my notebook audio out

still thinking on which cyrus cdp to get. was thinking on CD6s then in future hook up a DAC X and make the cd6s work like a transport.
else if tat does not happen, i might consider a cd8x or SE models

Cyrus cost few thou, not SACD and small size, looks moderate.. not overpriced?
its overpriced in malaysia, but in singapore should be just nice la.
the sound that it gives out is nice, punchy and warm and for other players to match a cyrus, its definateley priced 3-4 times a cyrus.
