Yes it is actually. However from what I had remembered from this, its only applicable to stock standard units, but not the customized ones.

There was somebody here in the forums who had tried to do an exchange before, but couldnt 'cause his unit was a customized one (upgraded the disk), however they did offer him a free ipod nano in return.

Out of curiosity, how did you get the idea that you can get to deal directly with Apple Malaysia for retail purchases?
