Personally I found glowing keyboard stickers at www.latkey.com to give brighter glow. Since they are transparent they less affect keyboard look. However Mac keyboards are now lit by design, so Macs certainly rule right from the shop.

I think it's bright but you know, digital/phone cameras can hardly represent things like this. Maybe if we see it in front of our eyes, maybe it's brighter than those posted pictures.
