How to make sure the origin of iphone?, Anybody knows?

Hey..i plan to get an iphone 3G soon..
But i want to make sure that the iphone i'm getting is from the country i want.. Is there a website or anything that tells u the IMEI or serial number of iphone for respective countries? |

if i'm not wrong the one u r looking would be from the original factory. dial *#06#, n look for the 7n 8 digit for 00. but i heard that most r assembled in china. by the way imei in iphone can be changed

No i mean..example if i buy an iphone in singapore shop...not apple store..
I want to 100% make sure it's a SG model without having to look at receipt or anything.. Is there any way? |

I know that thread..but how does it help me find out whether the phone is from where?
I'm in russia now and i saw one in a shop.. I wanna buy but i must be sure it's a russian model thats fully unlocked before i buy.. |

The question u should ask is, how do we determine the part number before activating it (paid for it).
Go to settings>general>about>model> MBxxxxx. Compare the 5 digit ending with the ones in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937 for Russian iPhone 3G Part Numbers. Hope u know what i said. |

I know..but the price here is rather high...
RM3600 for 16gb ler..Thats the official price.. But the iphone is literally anywhere.. They give everybody sell.. |
