No probs , but please keep ur 80GB HDD...cause incase u wanna claim a warranty someday , u will need swap back the OEM HDD..

FW 2.52 changed the process somewhat :

1. After booting up with the new HDD, I had to reinstall the FW first (lucky I still had it) from a USB stick.  Otherwise you can't proceed.
2. The magic box prompts you to format the new HDD.
3. Setup the PS3 first (though I suppose one could just type crap in to get it running)
4. Fiddle through the menus and select Restore Backup
5. Prompts you to format the HDD again.
6. Restores backup (an odd 40minutes for about 20GB of data).

Might just be me/placebo, but the XMB seems snappier.

Hopefully bro ninja will link the latest firmware ASAP..cause at the moment the firmware just can be d/loaded via direct PS3.

download to PC larr much faster...then transfer it to thumbdrive..then download it to PS3 thumbup.gif
