you can download normally. but you wouldnt know whether the downloaded data is corrupted or not. maybe there are some error when the packets are relayed through streamyx' superior infrastructure. or errors/corruptions during transfer to usb drive etc. ever wonder why downloading via bittorrent doesnt have corrupted download? that is because they incorporate auto hash checking in the bt clients. normally this hash thingy is used to verify a file's integrity (to make sure no 3rd party tampered with the file, or the download/transfer is not corrupted).

wintel computers dont have hash checkers by default. it's up to you whether to check it or not. smile.gif

iya. some time ago a few people reported failures/bricks during fw update. maybe there were coincidence or whatever reasons, but i would not want to update my ps3 with corrupted data. would you? tongue.gif

or maybe.. coincidentally the PSN store re-tightened the billing address verification, causing cards to fail

What is static DHCP? Making the router assign the same ip to PS3 every time login ker?
*
yes. it is set in the router to reserve certain IP to a specific MAC address. so in PS3 you can just use easy config but it will still assigned to the IP set up in the static DHCP client list smile.gif

1 year warranty from Sony Japan

Even if you are willing to pay for repair, Sony Malaysia/SG/HK wont entertain it.

as long as it is fat (fat16/fat32) and has 130MB freespace, it can be used. it is okay if there are already other files in the drive.
