apparently no tracking number is given now coz a couple of lads here (incl me) had the same prob
*
thanks for the reply...i've dropped them an e-mail anyway..let see whether they'll give it or not. So if it was shipped today morning (Our time)..will it arrive by friday? I'm afraid it'll arrive next week as i'm on leave and i addressed it at my office. If using UPS..will they keep it and do another round of delivery or i'll have to pick it up myself at their collection center?

Good to hear on that.. What debit card do you use? Mind to share with us? Any requirements needed when you want to apply it?

Regarding about hong kong.. yes.. most are from hong kong because hong kong is the hub for jersey distributions for this region. And also a lot of well known collectors are from hong kong and they too are bright enough to keep the old stocks from time to time and then later resell it..

Nothing to worry about, most of the items are authentic. Only thing is that they have loads of DIY stuff like DIY NNs and match details (or known as 'insigna').
Your purchase was taxed? If yes, sorry to hear that...

If it was taxed, then there is nothing much you can do but pay for it.. They will not refund it unless you return back the item with the filled 'return slip' that comes along in the package.
*
OK...if i were to return it...

1 )what's the overall procedure?..
2) do i have to pay anything for the return?
3) do i have to inform united direct of any kind?
4) how long does it take for united direct to refund?

has anyone does it before?

Thanks guys for your much needed info notworthy.gif

If your total purchase (including cost of shipping) is less than RM500 you shouldn't be taxed at all. PM bro schmeichel7 for more clarification. I'd definitely make a complaint to Customs. But if after you add the shipping cost it is more than RM500, then like schmeichel7 said it's better to just pay it rather than send it back and so on. It's a huge hassle.
*
The amount was 72.22 pound..which includes the shipping fees..totalled to about RM405 by my CC. What else can i do?..i've PMed bro schmeichel7 already and waiting for his advice..How can i make a complaint to customs? Can you actually do that? since they already paid my disbursement fee and duty amount. cry.gif

Yup, that's the info we got last time as well i.e. CIF amount of RM500 and below is exempted from tax. I'm glad to hear that Customs also replied you the same thing. Since your case is legitimate  you shouldn't have to pay it.

Do keep us updated on the status of your case.

@ schmeichel7: this is not talking about how to evade tax but rather what our rights are as consumers since we are talking about a legitimate situation.
Yeah, this is certainly a worrying trend. This is another reason why we're usually better off buying from legit local stores or legit internet stores like Kitbag. eBay has lots of goodies but as they say - 'caveat emptor' or

BUYER BEWARE!
*
Latest update: Shipment CIF can't be track due to it's still in the delivery truck with the item..they'll ask the PJ HQ to fax the CIF to them tonight (UPS Agent in KLIA). Tomorrow morning then they can analyze and provide me an answer to why i'm being tax..at the end of the conversation he said there could be something in the CIF that makes it taxable and there's a calculation for it..i just bought 2 jersey and a mug..can anyone enlightens me what usually in the CIF and does our CC charge everything included in the CIF? or there are hidden charges not bared by the customer but by UPS?

QUOTE(EEE @ Dec 11 2008, 12:47 AM)
It happened this way.....a funny way.

[OCT 2008]
I've ordered (3rd Kit + Rooney + Starball) from United Direct.

[1 Week Later]
Received my parcel from UPS.
United Direct sent me just (3rd Kit + Rooney) no starball. Damn!
So I've made complaint by phone called to Manchester. (Email = totally useless)  mad.gif

[NOV 2008]
I ordered again (3rd Kit + Giggs + Starball) from United Direct.

[1 Week Later]
Received my parcel from UPS.
No problem this time (3rd Kit + Giggs + Starball) printed correctly.
Awesome!

[DEC 2008]
Kitbag sent me the UEFA Champions 07/08 starball as replacement.
Therefore, I've got an extra seperated Champions 07/08 starball now.  cool2.gif
*
E-mailing them is useless i agree..been e-mailing them a few times..only one replied on one of my many questions.

Bro...so kastam lepas yours aaa...means that jersey is not taxable? ...i need this info to argue with UPS who 'pandai2' without calling me and accepting the kastam charges.

In actual the total amount should not be more than RM 500, but I dunno why they want to charge at the first place. Maybe they treat 1 jersey at a market value of RM 259 then 2 shirts is already over the limit given, plus a mug somemore..
Ya, hopefully.  cool2.gif
*
Total CIF (Cost + Insurance + Freight) = RM405..i've forwarded the case to UPS..asking them why didn't inform me in the first place before accepting the tax but my mojo are telling me that they can't do anything about it as they already paid and kastam that imposed them which contradicting with another kastam officer whom i've spoke to on the phone..well..worst case i'll send it back to united direct..

My parcel was just 1 jersey inside lah....of course no taxed.
I think you've been hit by the "weight" of the mug, not the total amount RM.

But one thing I have to be honest with you, I'm afraid you've have totally no power to argue with them.
You'll still have to pay for it in the end. But well...of course I hope you manage to win the arguement then.
Good Luck.
*
Well..u probably right...but i'll wait for them to reply..then i'll decide..thanks

May I ask is there a size difference for the kits (arsenal) between those in local stores and Kitbag?  Thanks

i kena once eventhough i onli bought 1 gk kit from united direct. kena almost 50% of the price i paid for my kit.
then check back the invoice, then there's a column there stated "dutiable item", i'm not sure whether is it due to that particular word which i ended up paying for the tax.
*
ooo...got such thing aa on the column...hopefully mine can lepas...today selangor holiday so cannot proceed..UPS said maybe they'll have to re-declare the package..

Hei guys...i have ordered 4 jerseys from kitbag and the total amount is 113.53 GBP. Today while i was not at home the UPS guy came and he told my mom to pay them RM 225.59(RM25.00 for disbursement fee and RM200.59 for Duty amount) which i thought its kinda weird for them to charge the tax together under the UPS Invoice. How do i confirm that the Custom has really taxed my parcel and it is not a fraud from whomever ? I just wanna make sure before i pay please someone can clarify this for me ? thx in advance and i am really sad that shiTTs happened...20% sales but on the other hand 40+ % taxed...sad...

QUOTE(odieseven @ Dec 13 2008, 06:07 AM)

*

Be careful folks when buying from kitbag/United Direct..

It seems that customs are detecting a MASSIVE amount of parcels via UPS coming in from UK.. Hence it could be a bad time to order now.. unfortunately.. I heard people getting taxed for only 2 jerseys.. So it is dependant on your luck
*
Yup...bad timing..i end up paying those taxes...because nothing can be done as soon as they pay for taxed item..bad timing for us in Malaysia but not for the best deals in the UK.. sad.gif
