Hi jerseyman, need to clarify with you on this. As you posted above, the EPL patch has only the word CHAMPIONS for season 2000-2001, but I have noticed a slightly different version from soccer athletic, please enlighten me. blink.gif

Season 1999-2000 [same]

Season 2000-2001 [different? Or it is actually the same like yours after we applied it on the shirt.]

This one is replica version... made by lextra material.

For replica versions, it has "CHAMPIONS 1999-2000" and underneath it, it is written with "THE MILLENIUM SEASON" as shown below:

user posted image

This replica version patches are super rare and consider special edition patches for the millenium season.

The Man United player issue kits, instead use different badges in the 2000-2001 season (when Sheringham was still there)... It is thick PU material and has CHAMPIONS only written on it. You can see for yourself here:

Notice that the words CHAMPIONS only appear at the Man United player's EPL patches in the 2000-2001 season. Here's a close up on how the player issue patch looks like:

Yes, only the Champions 1999-2000 patches are different.

And not only the patches, the NNs are also different. Player issue kits uses PU type NNs that are player size (bigger than replica size). Dunno why Chris Kay did this for that season.

When you say player size is bigger, that applied to the player size patches as well, right? Like you just confirmed that the millenium special edition patch is the replika one, but the measurement is exactly the same size with the regular player size patch as stated by soccer authentics, I thought they were supposed to be slightly smaller?

Previous EPL Champions patches during 'THE FA PREMIER LEAGUE' and 'BARCLAYCARD PREMIER LEAGUE' (before the one with BARCLAYS premier league) only have 1 size. Player issue size.

Then during the 2004-2005 season (when Arsenal were champions in 2003-2004 season) there were 2 sizes.. even the current one has 2 sizes, but so far Malaysia sells the player issue sized for the current 07/08 Champions patches.

So the ones sold by soccerauthentic are player issue sizes.

So that means I can apply:

with this (of course same set of colour):

And this (with the positioning of the letters that is the same format as of current ones):

for the last Umbro MU home kit without having to fear that they were not tally against each other at all. rclxm9.gif

Sure, of course you can..

But would be perfect if you can get the 2000-2001 patches, because for that season, United wore all lextra type patches and NNs.

Since you want to apply on the last umbro home kit, you can use the 2000-2001 patches:

user posted image

And I think you better opt for this one because in the 2001-2002 season (when Van Nistelrooy joined) United used the same patches shown above and also the same player size NNs you are purchasing from soccerauthentics.

A bit sceptical because the seller only sells M and XL only. Signs of fake jersey there..

And if you see the other items the seller sells, all are fake jerseys (hyper grade?)

I was thinking of applying IRWIN 3 for the last UMBRO home kit as that is also his last season with United.

And I want to know how come the above patches and the following ones have extra ledges?

Bro.. why are u so worried about the extra ledges... and what do you mean ledges? doh.gif

This one is old stock from Chris Kay

user posted image
This one is a repro made by Sporting ID (who now owns the copyright to produce EPL patches)

Notice that the old stock one has 'LEXTRA' printed all over the plastic film while the repro one doesn't?

No worries on that also. Both are authentic.

This is from soccerauthentics right? I know the seller, the items are 100% authentic.

You're out of luck mate, it's not for sale locally and commercially (from what we heard). Meaning, it's not for sale individually by retailers, only by selected few as approved by UEFA - megastore, kitbag, etc.
