not only you guys,
i had the same error when i'm trying to purchase points, i keep trying a few times but it failed. i even tried 2 different CC.
first CC i tried it failed and sencod CC also having same error message. but hte next i got a call from my 1st CC bank and asked me did i attempt to make purchase from MS and told me it failed because of invalid information i key in (but i'm pretty sure i key in correctly)
after reading you guys story, just now i made a call to 2nd CC bank, the operator said i got a transaction with MS on 8th of this month, but till now the transaction still not claim by MS yet. and the operator also said most probably the transaction will failed, coz normally MS will charge the bank after within 4 days. what i did is ask the bank to temporary block my CC so if later on MS wanna charge me, the bank will block it.
guess now the safest way to purchase point is from GH or retail shop....
