I do not agree that Riquelme is too "old" for the team. If you watch their game closely, you will notice that he is a vital catalyst in the current formation. His "magic" does not depend on speed at all. His vision is second to none and with good attacking wingers and strikers who can make those clever runs, like Messi, El Kun etc his skill is desperately needed. Instead of calling him slow or old, i tend to think he is a clever and intelligent player. By playing at his own pace, he is forcing the opponent to slow down and lose their shape. This is very effective and have been proven so countless times.
Argentina have been blessed with alot of attacking talents through the years. They are going through a bumpy patch as all teams would and i m optimistic that they will rebound in great style soon, provided of course the right coach is hired.
