Gonna do some improvements to my old AVR and CM534 casing. Never posted my work before as i often do minimalistic work for my own enjoyment as a hobby but there is a first for everything . My hands always itchy when getting new things or old ugly things Comments and critics are appreciated but don go overboard if u think its ugly . Sorry for pics use phone to take pic. So here goes nothing!

My 1990's AVR disassembled, but as they say old is gold....
But works very well haha

Front cover damn old and fugly





Coded the wiring configuration in my head and began sniping away at the wires




Total disassemble and start work on a new facelift for the AVR ( Acrylic & a Dremel )


Painted the shell in flatblack. Sanded it first but forgot to take pic too focused on the job only realized till after (used TOA Paint in IMHO kinda good)


Started re soldering wires


Done Some eye candy for you guys What do you think? . I am calling this project black box because it reminds me of the black box tape recording taken from airplanes


My CM534 casing will be next but will only be posting worklog once its totally completed

With a little imagination + some creativity + a little skills , anything can be modded

Okay lets start with my CM534 but sorry to inform you guys that are looking for extreme mods this is not gonna be one of those not pro . This mod is more to improvement of airflow efficiency while still trying to maintain overall stock look. Hope u guys like it .

Parts arrived but still not complete yet (4xyinyang fan grills, 4xMesh filters and 5x cm 90cfm blue led fan and a whole bunch of nuts and bolts)

i like the new AVR...cool!!! but how come there isn a breathe hole for it?

it nevers get hot or even warm thats why even after a weeks usage also scared cicak masuk and screw up everything

Only simple modding nothing spectacular like ianho or other pro bro

Okay sorry for long delay had operation on my knee slowed me down quite alot

Started with applying carbon fiber sticker to the inner bottom of the casing as that would be the first glimpse one would get when looking inside the casing
Made a stupid mistake by not taking the hardware part out first which only made my job harder

so the next morning i took all my parts out


As you can see i have previously 120mm intake on the acrylic side panel and forgot to document that but is similar to the following job

And so i started masking away before cutting my top exhaust


Did my alignment correctly and then started by mounting a customized fan grill which i use primarily for making 120mm blowholes



got myself a new toy cost RM15 lol china product lets see if it can cut metal



okay mounted the customized fan grill using my drill before cutting the blowhole



muahaha the new toy i got just couldn't handle metal well thats RM15 well spent


Can you see the blunt tip ? Well i expected to much from it anyway maybe could be useful for acrylic



Back to my trustworthy dremel and walah its done

muahaha not all mine the dremel belongs to my dad he would kill me if i borrowed it to you lol. Where you from anyway bro? Might get myself a jigsaw come Christmas when i get my annual bonus

ok.. looks like a neat job.. keep the woklog moving.. and the adjustable hole drill. its not that good.. sekali guna already tumpul. thats very sad..

I suggest getting a dremel 1st so you can cut detailed designs instead of the jigsaw AND SO I CAN BORROW ALSO!!!

not all adjustable cutter will be lidat..if u got quality one wont face dat prob..this one cheapo oni..ive using in my varsity lab can cut metal very well

Where did u buy the adjustable cutter mfcm & cal83?

u can find in hardware shop..or if u looking better one find in machinery dealer or supplier dat supply for factory

i got it from a shop called 100% shop that has almost everything you can find but mostly from china no brand one near my place. Only rm15 i think. i am sure it works well with acrylic. You can also try your luck in any hardware shop
