there are fake leather which is softer to the feel and dissipate heat faster then genuine leather. IMHO when coming to upholstery it's personal preference.

leather not nice to me. when doing sharp turns and high speed corners, my butt always kinda slippery to the left and to the right haha. not enough friction to hold u firmly

IMO
pros : leather can easily clean up. looks more executive cons: harder than fabric. very hot in sunny days. if u're seat's not at least semi bucket,it's uncomfortable bcoz ur ass will be moving around when taking corners.. |

Leather all the way for me. I find it more comfortable, luxurious, smells better and easier to clean.
As for concerns about heat: that's what V-Kool/3M/Llumar/etc tinting + sunshade (if necessary) + air-cond is for. I have parked my car (V-Kool tint) under the hot mid-day sun for hours without a sunshade, and while it was hot, with the aircond, it cooled down quite fast. And it wasn't as hot as one of my previous rides which was very very hot (no tinting, sunshades fixed, fabric seats). |

For me, I prefer fabric seats. Why so?
Fabric seats; 1) Doesn't slip when you take corners 2) Not hot under hot sun! 3) However it's not waterproof 4) More colours yes! Funky ones too 5) Dusty Leather seats; 1) Slippery when you take corners 2) Exclusive look!. Not too many colours available 3) Hot under the sun 4) Waterproof! |

rm8k for regular sedan, you can get a real good quality leather that only traps less than 50% heat compared to the full/semi leather seats.

Only cons for the fabric seats is kena-tumpah Kopi-O, other than that it sure is more comfortable than leathers incl the squeks when we move our butts around.

Where I park is open-air parking, so my car under the sun kao kao. Leather seat will burn my ass + eventually probably crack due to the heat. And I agree leather not good for long distance driving, back becomes very sweaty.

After many years, all of them crack up and become unsightly. Maybe last longer in temperate climate but not Malaysia, the weather here will roast anything inside the car. If with leather seats, you have to take care more than ever and never park it often in the hot sun. Maybe modern tinting may help but still damn hot here in Malaysia, unless you live in Cameron Highlands. I recall my towkay boss RR Silver Shadow..the leather seats?..I think my cheap car seats look much much better...LOL!This post has been edited by bsl555: Jun 5 2015, 07:09 PM |

No regrets so far. |

(gonna buy Honda City or Suprima S) but I knew leather seat is "disaster" for long distance driver... sweaty back like playing hours of futsal pls get rid of leather seat (or offered it as optional kit), it's really not suitable for long distance drivers in Malaysia... I think depends on some leather and people combination. Mine also leather but no sweaty issue on long distance driving. Park under hot sun, open air conditioner and open all windows, in a minute or two didn't feel hot anymore.

If the leather you are sitting on doesn't cool down fast then its not leather la. Leather suppose to stabilise the temp faster with ur skin. I like only leather. Its mostly black, looks luxurious, easy to clean, smells nice, cool when u on the AC and chicks like cars with leather seats.
Those who say fabric is better are those people who probably can't afford leather seats or cars with leather seats. Easy. This post has been edited by kamilnu: Jun 7 2015, 12:20 AM |
