QUOTE(PCHo @ Nov 4 2008, 10:16 PM)
1st off, it is not the wind or the grass's problem that is causing u to not focus well.
It is ur camera settings.
At that kind of aperture and shutter speed, don't expect u will get a sharp picture especially when there is movement.
You need a very fast shutter to capture things in motion, e.g. 1/2000s.
And it was broad daylight, so using such a shutter speed is no problem.

2nd thing, u r shooting macro, why r u using such a small aperture?
Remember aperture affects the "bokeh" effects of macro shots.
The bigger the aperture, the better the bokeh (f/2.0 > f/7.1).

3rd thing, if u r really having problems focusing, y not manually focus? (assuming u used AF for this shot).
This way, the camera will not be cheated by movements of the grass.

Not bombing u here Ramblie, so no hard feelings ya!
Learn from mistakes.
I m learning from a lot of guys here too!

This is what I'm waiting for rclxms.gif

1. Yeah, I think I should use Tv mode rather than P mode and set shutter manually so I can catch the movement. I'll do next time and I'll remeber your advise here. biggrin.gif

2. Means, I have to move more closer to the subject, is it right? Because it relative with the distance, right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

3. I myself still not confident to use M mode. Last time when I still using 35mm SLR, two unit of my camera (EOS 50 and EOS 500) breakdown just I'm always using M mode. But, I'll try to using M mode for my next close up picture.

Anyway, I'll using Tv mode first then M mode if the picture still look blur.

Thanks again bro for your valuable and rememberance critics and comments here. rclxms.gif

use Manual mode bro,
lock the aperture at highest value
then only tune your shutter speed

using M too much will spoil your slr? rclxub.gif

Thanks, I'll try on what you suggest here. Thanks again bro biggrin.gif

From my film SLR experience, yes, until I have to get F75... sad.gif

Then I migrate to DSLR. That's why la I'm still not too confident to back to M mode rclxub.gif

If 'hangkang'...not cheaper like those film SLR ooo... sweat.gif

how can someone spoil a camera using M mode? dun tell me u didnt disengage the gear before turning the focusing ring... then its ur fault d...

I think so also... sad.gif On that time I too eager to playing with some electronic SLR then maybe I forgot to follow the rule... doh.gif

When I send it to Canon service center, they tell me the cost to repair is RM900 for EOS 50 and RM60 for EOS 500...

Better I buy used 350D rather than repair it... smile.gif
