QUOTE(cIvIc_noob @ Nov 30 2008, 11:05 PM) Hm... i was using the free tripod that came with the cam, Maybe next time i will try borrow other people's sturdier tripod to testing and use timer or a switch. Thanks for the advice lwliam. Not to be harsh, but all your photos (including the 1st night shot) are over exposed. Your camera has an indicator in the viewfinder (find its location out from your manual) which will blink like no tomorrow when the photo to be taken is over/under expose. It's time to I like this thread constructive criticism and some troubleshooting, instead of some thread where people keep on tembaking people and keep on talking bout buying good lens only, lols. Here's my take for today, i went to Lambir national park, you guys can google it up. It's near my place, has 8 waterfalls. I took a pic while i was hiking. Camera: Canon 1000d » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This is the run down monitor tower on the way Focal Length: 25 Iso:800 Exposure:1/1000 F:6.3 Mode:Manual This is the waterfall i took,i wanted to take a steady stream of water. I know it's overexposed,i set the shutter at slowest(the one beside bulb) but failed so ended up trial and error settle with 1/4, i used the built in flash too, if not it will be more overexposed, and iso already put at 100, and i realise something when i pop up the flash, the shutter seems to be fixed at 1/200, why ah? I'm using Canon btw. How can i correct my shot. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Focal Length: 22 Iso:100 Exposure:1/4 F:25 Mode:Shutter Priority Anyways just wanna share another shot which i believe most of you cannot get, tribal design. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Focal Length: 30 Iso:800 Exposure:1/80 F:9 Mode:Manual Please comment on pic 2 i want to learn how to improve this kinda shot,Thanks Added on November 30, 2008, 11:08 pm ... 1. RTFM, and 2. http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials.htm, and 3. Read books on composition and exposure, and 4. Observe how other great waterfalls photos was taken As for your 2nd photo: 1. Your composition is way out - and pls - don't tilt it. Not every tilt is entitled to be called "creative". 2. It's over exposed. - pls consult others opinion as they have suggested. Cheers and have fun. |

QUOTE(zeeker87 @ Dec 3 2008, 02:20 PM) da photo is a failure?? LOL! I am those who have difficulty to figure out what's the subject in some of the photo posted.but i think it's good..it's juz using different method to express it.. i guess different person will interpret it in a different way.. Btw, just a personal opinion: I know we like to share our works, but to post a whole bunch of photos and ask for C&C, it's a big ask. Well, maybe that's just me. Cheers. |

I was hanging around in the Pavilion today and was lucky to meet a group of dancers/models doing some dancing and posing for a photography session for the public.

QUOTE(lwliam @ Dec 9 2008, 10:07 AM) eball88: you dont have to have A LOT of money to get a dslr, just ENOUGH money to buy one already can Yeah, those entry levels DSLRs cost not much higher than higher-end DCs. You might also consider 2nd hand set or (real) clearing stock sales. Just beware of LBA later-on. |
