 How to format ubuntu and install vista, help me inside

My new hard drive is installed with ubuntu durin initialisation

the linux ubuntu then partition the filesystem as ext3
and if now, lets say i wan to install another os, like vista to the hd, when i format it with cd, it says vista canot write to this hardrive
coz diff filesystem

any pro , teach me how to format or insatll 2nd os on tat hd tnx

I tried install windows 1st,then ubuntu.Both OSes can works in a single partition.Probelm is you have to install it on windows for my case.So if you install ubuntu first,i think cannot lor.

ur usin oni one hdd n without partition?
ubuntu partition nid to be delete den oni u can format n install another os on tat same partition..

i wish i had installed windows 1st as well

no, the partition are all in ext3 , done by linux during installation
it ask me to specify if i wan to do any , so i did 3, but all in ext3

pls cont to help me

1. Insert Ubuntu disc and startup computer
2. Select "Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer"
3. In the Ubuntu desktop, go to System > Administration > Partition Editor
4. Delete ext3 partition. Select one of the partition and format to NTFS
5. Quit Ubuntu
6. Insert Vista disc and startup computer for installation

1 problem here
i did as wat u said, but up to the point
select 1 partition and format, it is greyed, ubuntu don let me do anything with it, no delete, no format to
everything seems to be disabled

i heard that ubuntu ned some privelleges like 'sudo' command to enable it? any pros guide me pls

Right-click the partition and select Unmount.

did tat
error msg "could not unmount device"
'device is busy'

anything i did wrongly?

just insert vista dvd and format the partition

i think it recognised as unformatted
