Just to share something that maybe some have known but to set "Malaysia" as the default Country each time you enter a new address of having to choose from the list of country

Now, here is the method:

1. install Erica Utilities via Cydia

2. Install Mobile Terminal via Cydia

3. use mobile terminal then enter "su" then type in the root password in your JB iphone (alpine)

4. at root prompt type /usr/bin/plutil -s AppleLocale -v my_MY /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist

Then execute (press return)

3. Respring your 3G iphone.

Now, if you go to Settings/General/International, you will find in Region Format for this particular case : Malaysia
and your address book would have Malaysia as the default country

Hope it helps to answer most of the questions being raised on this issue

Cheers

Thx for sharing.

Tried on my 2G Iphone FW2.1.

The Region Format set to Malaysia but the address book (in contacts) not. Any resolution?

after you execute the following at thr root promt :

4. at root prompt type /usr/bin/plutil -s AppleLocale -v my_MY /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist

you should get a respond saying plist has been set to blah blah .. then you need to reboot your iphone.

after i reboot go to contacts and just create a new contact and choose address and you should see Malaysia as the country
