Can left-side-driver car be driven in Msia?

I'm curious as I saw a Mustang at Sunway with Malaysia's road registration number. The driver was seated on the left side.
Wouldn't it be dangerous especially driving on fast lane when he might misjudge the distance between the opposite lane and his lane?
Isn't it illegal?
