ATTENTION!! I went to Vet Clinic last monday, Dr told me Collies(all breed of collie) SHOULDN'T eat HeartGuard, there is ingredient in it will cause our collies nerves problem.he recommended the more EXPENSIVE one..sigh Added on May 7, 2010, 10:31 pmQUOTE(byaku-chan @ May 5 2010, 12:03 AM) Thanks for sharing Cohen's pics Graymoths, she was an adorable puppy ^^ Such a beauty now that she's all grown up too! Green apple is great, I feed whole apples (with the core removed so there's no risk of seeds poisoning my dog) to my lab as a healthy treat. Very fun to see him bat the apple around and devour it Fruits that are toxic to dogs you should avoid: raisins, grapes, avocado (some dogs are OK with avocado but better to be safe than sorry). Remove seeds from fruits as some contain cyanide which can poison your dog. To get the most nutritional benefits out of fruits (dogs don't digest whole fruit very well) blend them or cook them. But if you just want to give them as healthy treats no need to be so thorough, especially if your dog already has a good main diet You can read these links for more info: http://factoidz.com/fruits-and-vegetables-for-dogs/http://dogs.about.com/od/dogandpuppyhealth/tp/toxicfood.htmOzzy the bf's sheltie taken a few days ago: WOW...how old is she/he?? Added on May 7, 2010, 10:34 pmrecently my Bingo is 2 months full, but tried to train her like shake hand & sit, it looks like bingo is very hard to train, probably many reasons, maybe she still too young to be trained?she doesn't get attracted by aroma food/treat. but all in her mind is..Play play play!any advise? QUOTE(TokiToki @ May 8 2010, 01:01 AM) I mentioned somewhere before that Collies can't take Heartguard. The alternative would be Interceptor. Which I personally feel is better than Heartguard. I don't think 2 months is too young. Maybe you're taking the wrong approach? When I first got my Rough Collie, she was 8 weeks old and she learnt how to sit and stay in 3 hours. Instead of tempting her with treats, try toys instead since you mentioned that she likes to play. Edit : The ingredient in Heartguard that Collies are allergic to is called IVERMECTIN. same goes to my Mika, when she was 2 months she learn sit, shake hand easily..tried to get rid of every distractions when i train bingo though

QUOTE(TokiToki @ May 8 2010, 04:38 PM) Maybe train her away from Mika? Or let her watch Mika when you ask her to do tricks? done it, not working, called up my breeder which he have alot of experience of BC, he told me BC pup, will at least 5-6months then only understand our language, because on her age now it's a norm she never focus on a thing. but it's no harm to give her a try till then..sigh.

QUOTE(Alpha Wolf @ Jun 4 2010, 10:44 AM) Hmm... appears that Border Collies are not that popular in Malaysia. Correct me if I'm wrong. Agreed & that makes me wanna own them, instead of other breed.

QUOTE(FirstNoob @ Aug 22 2010, 11:05 AM) owh ! i dont know there's BC in brown ! Thanks for the info.. Btw, do u find it difficult to raise ? My friends told me BC needs alot of exercise.. BC is not hard to raise as long as u have heart for it & BC'll require alot companionship,if left alone they'll be looking for trouble (example: dig mud, bite flowers, play with pail of water & etc), but then even choosing any other breed of dog also.I'll always advise to alot of ppl is to think twice before adopt.
