Usually, food-genre manga does little to intrigue me, especially something like 'if you eat this bread, you will be able to see the future, go to space, and even see the heavens!' like those in Yakitate!! Japan. It gives off the weird vibe of Prince of Tennis when they start having Dragonball powers.

But upon reading TORIKO, I had a change of heart, but only for this manga!
It took my favorite vibe (hand-to-hand fighting genre), and blend it together with the food genre.
And damn it, since I haven't had breakfast yet, this manga practically makes my tummy churn whenever I see the main character gobbles away

Scanlators does funny jobs, even to the point of writing f-you on an innocent shonen mag
