Some people only buy a PSP because they only want to play a few games (I know I did) and later don't know what to do with it so they sell it. What if someone were to buy some PSPs in bulk and start renting them out? The person will rent the PSP for the same price it was bought at, and after a period of time return it to the owner who will return the money minus the rental. Any late charges will be duducted accordingly. Sounds like a good idea? Only problem is the starting capital.

What about scratches? How will you handle that... and also swapped parts like for example with compatible brand battery/charger

Also will you provide MSPD? How if they swap with those no brand ones?

Well, you could use a casing with a custom lock or seal it with a sticker stating that if casing is opened then there will be a penalty. Of course the penalty would have to be adjusted accordingly.

The seal should be hard to counterfeit though, otherwise someone could just print one off and stick it on.

What if the psp spoil during rental, do you blame the user and take all the deposit money? I think PSP is quite cheap already, everyone also can afford, owning it is better as even you don't play games, you can always use it as media player to watch movies or use it to online.

Actually the idea is quite good. I would rent it just to play Force Unleashed or GTA smtg like that. But anyway my gf recently bought a PSP so i just borrow hers.

It is true that most ppl buy a PSP just for a game or two..

I don't see the idea is good. For me, if I can pay the rental at same price as new one better I buy myself. At least I don't have to worry about the scratches or unit become faulty.

Better to get 2nd hand unit than rent it.

No no no, you rent at the same price as some form of insurance for the owner. Just like how you go to those book rental stores, you buy the book at the cost price and within a month the store will buy back from you after deducting the rental. This is to ensure that you don't run away with the book. The only problem now is determining who's responsibility is it if the PSP became faulty during the rental period.

noway this will work. Unit might get scratched and so on and it's hard to judge it. How much do you want to deduct for minor/major scratch? Define minor/major scratch. If after return, unit faulty only found out by next person renting, how? New person blame old person but old person didn't admit?

How much do you want to charge customer to pay initially? RM1000? I might as well get a my own set and sell it later? OR get secondhand set?

I won't do a psp rental. I will do a buy back scheme instead. I will do it for other equipment like PDA, Notebook and see which is viable. Don't need to put a high capital to buy all new PSP, just buy some 2nd hand PSP will do. The advantage of this is customer who buy PSP from you get a higher refund back based on timeframe and unit condition. At the end it's still a rental but better deal for buyer and seller.
