Hey guys, its been a while.

This information is flagged as SOMEWHAT important lol.

Gaming in Malaysia is becoming an industry that depends highly on participation and numbers, where sponsors would generally come into events when there are a considerable amount of teams, players and response. With this said, i would like the cooperation from all teams, particularly in Call of Duty ™ 4 : Modern Warfare but not limited to that with the information below.

Malaysia has seen dominating teams before, much like FmJ in their period of dominance in Half Life™ : Counter-Strike 1.6, where they had over 16 of the 32/64 team limit from around Malaysia competiting in WCG, total dominance in numbers. Although it is basically a strategy of odds, dividing and conquering, it kills the game solely because new teams are either absorbed or just plain give up because of this. The number of comeptitive players thin within months and eventually hype dies down.

To ensure this does not happen to our games, i would like suggestions and also will be giving suggestions to improve and maintain Malaysia's growing gaming community. It is important that we take this seriously, in order for the big players to take us seriously.

All in all, i'm actually extremely happy about how things are going in Malaysia and i hope they continue to improve for the gamers in the future. For people like me, i'll probably only have a year or 2 left before i eventually retire from competitive play, unlike the newbloods who are 16-20 mostly. There will be a day when we oldies will need to run the show for these guys, so its best to show a good example.

Anyway, as an announcement, [ESP] & [SWL] will be working on the website for the upcoming Amatuer League. You can register from there WGT style soon. Schedules will also be out soon! smile.gif

Also, there are plans for [ESP] to get their own website and also a general website for the gaming community, particularly for updates and such. (mostly a portal to link gamers together, rather than attempting to plant ALL the malaysian gamers there and expect them to know the website >.<)

Updates will be soon, ladies!

Keep on Gunning,
Brian Chan

I do agree with Brian there. I think that clans out there should concentrate on getting the quality out of their current teams rather than just getting loads of people in and hoping somehow that some of the members will be good. It's as if everyone is happy loading average/mediocre players onto their extra teams just so that they would become somewhat famous. Also, it is VERY true that it is much harder to find sponsorship for 2 teams rather than just the 1.

A lot of good points have been put up there and I hope that people will begin to see that community care should start now instead of later when the game and the community is half dead.

p.s. I'm also hoping this thread will be a good place for people to express their views on the subject rather than a place to express their brain diarrhea.

The Amatuer League, named ESPGL, will be open to all localized teams, particularly those who can actually attend with no real problems smile.gif

So if you're a mainland china student studying here and will be here for the duration, why not play? There are not restrictions to nationality, just your participation is needed.

I thought ESPGL would stand for Eat, Sleep, Play Gaming League. . . And yeah, I agree to what crashtec and Grr had said, quality over quantity. It's a math equation. tongue.gif

haha, true. But remember, what happens in the game, stays in the game.

competitively, we can sometimes say things we dont normally say, especially when it comes when you're hyped up.

Er, I think it was only supposed to be referred to as amateur this time around. Or something. Whatever the case is, it's called ESPGL so we can carry over the publicity for when the league resumes maybe later next year (WHO KNOWS?! =D). Changing the name of the same event multiple times will only lead to confusion in the future.

I can answer that. XcN does have a COD4 team.. the previously won the Samsung King of The Hill Season 2 a few months back.. they are also participating in Season 3 of SKOTH (which is currently in its Group stages) and are kicking ass as usual.. sweat.gif
