Good people,

I'm registered for the marathon. But I'm down with flu (seasonal ya, not the H1N1) due to the haze and still on medication. If I don't recover by Saturday, I thought of giving up my number. Even if I recover, it would still considered like suicidal because I didn't train at all this month (last run was NB 15km). But I'd still want to go for the sake of participating. Finish or not another story.

If I were to give up my number, I still need to pick it up first right? Because the confirmation slip bears my name. Or can I just give the confirmation slip to the interested party?

Collect it & go sell to that guy who wanted to pay RM160 for a bib...

Parking wise, I think I'ma park at Masjid Negara la, c how la. I hope I won't be late again, I was late for Larian Bomba & Setia Alam....

Target for this race (10K) : break 1 hour... thumbup.gif

I collected my racepack at 8 today, not that many ppl. But judging from their speed of distributing the racepack just now, I mean, just to a handful of ppl... it was very slow. To have 12,500 runners taking part, they shud have a better system in place. Well, my number is 2091.. I've to manage my office's football team 2moro, hopefully won't finish late la the tournament..

Good luck y'all..

May I know can I requst to change my vest because they have given me a FEMALE vest....

So sad lar... this is my first run, and so many things happen.... seems like an unpleasant run...
*
I dun think they will allow any changes tomorrow. But then again, maybe U shud just try Ur luck, just go earlier & ask the organizers la.

Lucky I got the correct one. 2 person in front of me tested the vests once they got it & it was the wrong type indeed. The 2 guys got the woman's vest instead.

Dun let this dampen Ur spirit. My first run this year I used my own vest. rclxms.gif

Finished the run at 1:01 (my time) & at 1:02 (gun time, estimate). Quite disappointed that I didn't break 1 hour. But then again, considering my current condition (cold & cough), plus the fact that it was damn cold this morning, I guess that'll have to do. At least I've improved from 1:04. In the guidebook it says that the route is flat & fast.. If that was flat & fast, then I can only imagine what hilly would be like...

Congrats to all finishers... rclxms.gif

Mizuno is having a sale. I went to their outlet at the Gardens last week. Mizuno Wave Creation is at 50%. That is.. if U like Mizuno la. Some Mizunos are around 100+ after discount.

Adidas KotR regr closes yest and now is considered as "late entry" where they said up to Adidas to accept or reject (but they keep your regr fee?). Got some frens who might want to join... does anyone here know if they are still accepting registration?

Thnks,

I dun think it's up to Adidas to accept or reject. The registration is not closed yet I think, but now it's already in the late registration period, where they'll charge U RM10 extra. That's all.

Maybe U shud post this question in the Runners thread. There's a lot of experienced runners there who can give U good advice. Dun simply go for brand, there's a lot more to it if U're serious about running, i.e. feet type, goals, body weight, etc.

Brooks is at Curve (highest floor), BBT (Klang) and some Jusco outlets....GOto Curve....the unker there is quite helpful in giving advice...but of course, it's more accessible to chat with choi and phoenix over here.

I find Brooks pricing and Saucony are minimally different.....just gotta find one that suit you the best......

The last time I went there, Brooks the Curve was undergoing some renovation, so the store was in a mess. Maybe now settle edi...

Bro,

I had experience refunding the shoes that i bought at Adidas Malaysia. The allowed me to get new pair of shoes because of the defects usually not more than 6 months. I changed twice once at KL Sentral for my soccer boots ( no more at Kl Sentral nowdays) and for my sports shoes at SACC in shah alam.

But if u buy the shoes from reseller i.e Al-ikhsan, RSH  i dun think they will give u a refund.
*
That's for defects right ? Not if U dun like the shoes, or the shoes dun fit U well. If U can prove it's a manufacturing defect then it's a different story la.

ccube is right. From my experience, most products in the US they have money back guarantee. I recently purchased Livestrong bands & visor from Livestrong store online, they even include a form inside the package to allow U to return the product to them in case Ur not satisfied. Now, THAT's consumer power.

In here, dun like, keep quiet only la... what to do, purchased edi.... sad.gif

Why not try Nike Pro ? Some older models are going for a discount now. I personally use Nike Pro Vent Sleeveless sometimes for my 10K training run. I dun really feel any difference with it on or off, but it does make U feel compressed la. & it does make the sweat got an extra layer to go to before reaching my shoes & all.

I'm running on the track this Sunday, 10,000m. I know that running on track is different from running on the road. I wonder shud I invest on a pair of spikes ? It's more like a one-off event, I'll be running on the track maybe only once a year, for my ministry's sports carnival. Any sifus here can give me advice, whether it's okay to run using road shoes on the track ?

I've asked Mizuno Gardens, they do stock Mizuno Tempo LD spikes, RM299, after 20% less it's RM250+ like that... More expensive than my two pairs of road shoes !!! Hahah...

Well if the spikes are cheap y nt?
O.. btw i knw a place near "Jaya One" dey are selling ASICS spikes for oni RM200, there are oso of course one which are more exp.
Mebbe after the event u cud use it for speed training?

Road shoes on the track?
Well if ur running against season athletes, u b loosing out on a lot as just like racers, spikes have bare minimal (0 i tink) cushioning hence realli light.. as opposed to ur conventional shoes.. with the spikes, you go around the corners way easier tongue.gif

But if its just a "for fun" run, competitors dun train as hard as u (hv u been training laugh.gif)
Nth to loose with ur norm shoes..

And besides.. the real deal is ur stamina and leg strength..
Well... I'm still considering all options. The Mizuno Tempo LD is for long distance track runs (hence the "LD"). There are cheaper ones of course, I went to GS Gill on Saturday, there was this Line 7 spikes for RM69.90 !

My other option is to buy another road racer, I have the Mizuno Wave Aero currently. I was considering buying the Wave Ronin. I can't find the Wave Universe (at 100g/pair, proly the lightest road racer in the market today). New Balance have got a really light racer I saw in their store @ Gardens, not too expensive too. Haih... hmm.gif

Training ? Hahah.. I've been running as usual la, after the SCKLM. Did hillsprints, tempo, etc. Next week it's gonna be the Siemens Run. My first back-to-back race this year.

As for the competitors, I've been told there's one established runner who used to run for BSN (which is also under my ministry). So I guess he's gonna be the favorite, unless I can suddenly run a sub-5:00/km pace. My goal would be to break the hour. That first, anything more will be a bonus.
