I'm answering my own query here. tongue.gif

I just got from Davis, the Suunto T3C costs RM620, that's without the footpod & he said that the footpod is very expensive. He also didn't give the price for Polar RS200SD, saying that I shud forget about Polar at the moment.

o.O what does he mean by forget about Polar? Probably not in demand?
*
I'm not quite sure. Proly (& I'm guessing) it's about exclusive distributorship in the country. He's claiming that there's no disti in Malaysia, but who actually brought Polar products in to be sold in Fitness Concept & some bicycle shops ? At the moment it's proly better to purchase Polar from authorized outlets, but the price ... sweat.gif I guess I'ma stick to my Timex first la.

If i m nt wrong, suunto t3c, t4c, t6c hv their own foot pods but must bought seprately..
Why didn't he give u a price for the footpod? or do u edi hv the price? I can check for you if you like as CoreZone sells suunto products too

I wonder why forget Polar at the moment..
I knw for a fact that the RS200 and the RS300 models don't hv a prb with support
I think he needs to get his facts right..
There is an official distributor; Hi -Velocity, ask him abt them?
Well there is a pacesetter run in Putrajaya this thurs if i m nt wrong smile.gif

I also dunno about Polar la. But from the price U listed here, about RM900+ right ? Too much for me at the moment la. Maybe U can check the price for Suunto T3C plus the footpod. But judging from the wrist unit price alone, Davis is indeed selling at lower than market price.

Putrajaya night run is on Saturday la. Anybody going ? Maybe I'll run this one, to make up for the disappointment of not running the PACM NB.

I went to check on Polar HRM this afternoon when I was at Carrefour Wangsa Maju. I went to the Fitness Concept & asked the person there to check 2 models for me, the RS200SD & RS300x. Both models, including RS300xSD is not in stock, even at their warehouse. Maybe those interested can check other outlets, like bike shops....

bro, you shd have go for Half....

i registered for Siemens, Adidas, Shape n Men health... n also going to register the McD too...  laugh.gif

Half ? Hmm... I think since this year's my first year entering competition, I'ma focus on 10-15K first. But I'd really like to run half plus a marathon, at least once in my life la.. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I've registered for SCKLM & Siemens. I'ma go for KOTR as well. Men's Health I can't go coz I'll be in Kuching, the McD run clashes with my ministry's sports carnival. But if there's no runner for the 10K event (during the sports carnival), I'ma go for the McD run as well... rclxms.gif

I was late to the start, I arrived just after they flagged off the half mara runners. I got to the start just in time & the gun went off just as I was tying my shoelaces !! Anyway, I finished in 1:05.55. I guess this was better than my Larian Bomba (10K@1:04) & I've improved from 6.24/km to 5:59/km pace. Well, I hope I can break 1 hr during SCKLM.

Well, if I can maintain this kinda pace, I'ma break 1 hr for 10K la. I think for the SCKLM, the 10K route will be like Larian Bomba... Rolling route la...

Guys

Need some advise.

I've been hydrating properly before runs, taken some bananas and all but cramps are happening all the time on my calves.

Any ideas? Am I lacking any nutrition? Or am I just lack of training(running?)??

My diet? As you can see from my journal. I take my multi vitamins everyday, 2 fish oil caps and occasional Glucosamine.

I eat more fruits nowadays, apples and banana.

Any ideas? Anyone experience same problem?

Cramps are happening ONLY on Calves. My quads and hamstrings are fine.
*
Yesterday I suffered cramps on my right calf for the 1st time since I took up running. Normally it would happen after I've completed my runs, but yesterday it happened during my run (approx. KM5 out of 12KM). I continued anyway & after a while it didn't hurt so much. But I felt uncomfortable, twas like running on one leg. & my case is a little bit different from metalfreak's: I only suffered cramps on my right calf.

Hhhm

Hey guys...

Where to park on race day ah? Is the parking areas at Dataran Merdeka still available on that day?
*
During Larian Bomba in May I actually got to Dataran quite late but still managed to park just behind the Kelab Selangor. But then, for SCKLM, there's gonna be 5 times more ppl & the marathon starts at 5. So for the 10Kers, I guess it's gonna be virtually impossible to get a parking near Dataran, as we're gonna be the last to start. Right now I'm thinking : Bank Negara or Dayabumi, or even Masjid Negara.

On another note : I was in Midvalley on Sunday & there was a Garmin booth. I saw Garmin Forerunner 50 selling for RM999, with everything included. It was actually a good-looking watch, better than Polar. I mean, it didn't look like a sports watch. According to the guy, the price was for that day only. There was also a Forerunner 405, selling for RM1570.

I also went to Fitness Concept, where they do have stock for RS200SD, selling for RM965. Then there's a RM100 discount voucher, so it's RM865. The promo is until 3rd July.
