d3vilzzzz: Of course you can run faster and better with it cause you are comparing a running shoe with a basketball shoe. How to prevent blister, either a good pair of sweat resistant socks like Injinji or you tape up your hot spot areas with tapes like the 3M Micropore.

d3vilzzzz: Put a plaster on the blistered area, then maybe a cotton or gauze on it plasters with 3M Micropore. This will help cushion the wound from further chaffing. This is what I did with my Achilles recently. The product toto4d mention, one of them is call Body Glide. It's petroleum free!

The Nike LunaRacer+ is out since a month ago and I'm already wearing it. It costs RM439. The obvious difference compared to the Nike LunarTrainer+ will be FlyWire construction that replaces the traditional airmesh hence the lighther weight. Other differences are the tighter fit, lower profile outsole and the inclusion of more carbon rubber on the outsole. And it weights at only 156 grams, almost half the weight of the trainer! Please note how I spelt both the shoes model.

Do your HIIT on Wednesday instead. Let your body recover on Friday before hitting it on Saturday. Rest is part of your training also. As for Monday, do a relax 5KM run instead. Else, everything is fine.

Since your long distance run is on Saturday, let Friday be your rest day to rejuvenate. And why do HIIT twice a week? Build endurance before speed.

sfax: I'm brinding along a Food Guide with me that recommends those famous food at Penang. Hehe...
ccube: I agree. Once arrive at Penang and collecting our race packs and checking into the hotel, it's rest and rest then dinner then rest. Not much sight seeing until after the marathon. I guess this is SunUp marathon cause by the time we finish, sun is up. Hehe... But I hope it's not salted fish marathon lar.

sfax: Wah... You wear the Mizuno vest ar. Very heavy ooh and it doesn't wick sweat fast enough. I advice you change to something else unless you are comfortable with it. And also your 100Plus, try dilute it with water, at least half of it so you won't feel sticky when drinking it. It works for me.

sfax: On seconds thoughts, since we are running just besides the sea, we might not be experiencing heavy sweating. Probably will dry up into crystal salts. Therefore, the Mizuno might suit after all. The Nike vest I got is light and good but its still a long way to go compared to the Saucony Elite vest. You gotta feel it to know it.

sfax: I call that more on protein loading. The protein versus carbo ratio is unbalance towards the protein side. Haha... There's a way to carbo load. If you don't follow the science of it, no matter how much carbs you eat a day or two before the race, it won't work you know.

Haha... Kena sound by ccube liao. Leading to this race, I also control my intake of cheat meals. Probably the most strict among all my marathon trainings. I thought KFC = Kung Fu Chau?

I agree. The Putrajaya 12 hour walk is gonna be fun. Not run, not a race but instead is more like a get-together. Let's move move it together.

meatball88: Pacers wear special tees/vest and have special bibs. And if they follow certain oversea races, they do carry baloons. You got to look out for them. Try to follow their pace as they will help you achieve your targeted time. By the way, it's SCSM (Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon).
d3vilzzzz: Why not? Just go for it. No pressure. Just take it as a fun run and also to gain some experiences. You can't be following the beginner's program all the way. You need to go out and feel the real thing.
