QUOTE(bubb13s @ Jul 7 2009, 05:01 PM) as in run without bib no. Owh. I see. I wanted to do that for the Standard Chartered KLM but the organizers advised me against it as we will be in the way of the registered runners. I almost ran though but decided to run by myself at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa.

Are your tights below the knee (covers the knee area)? I am only looking for any type of running pants, tights that covers the knee. And how much? So, from what you said it's more comfortable running with tights? Are there tights made especially for running? Don't you feel 'tight' around your hamstring and you feel no restrictions whatsoever while running?
Sorry for too many Q's. Would appreciate if someone can answer all these questions.

QUOTE(jack208 @ Jul 7 2009, 05:29 PM) Did Octagon said that? Take a look here... there were so many mothers bringing their strollers out into the finishing path (the area at the end of Jln TAR).. that they are become road hazards to the marathoners who are running towards the finishing line.. Look at this poor runner trying to squeeze between a "walking" finisher and the strollers!! Yeah, I asked the organizers the day before the race and they said that I can't be a phantom runner. I'm glad I wasn't......pity that guy. (but the mom looks like she has a bib )

QUOTE(ccube @ Jul 7 2009, 06:51 PM) i used to wear shorts and run for donkey years. abt 3 years ago i switch to tights. i felt that it absorb sweat better and dont soak my shoe too early in a race. i will probably be trying out 2XU compression knee length tights once i get hold of it. Shah, depending on wat tights u looking for and some of ur Q were being answered. Compression tights are totally different from normal ones (and for obvious reasons cost more). They are supposed to increase proper blood circulation during runs and hence reduce the build up of lactic acid which can results in cramps. Thank you all for answering my questions. Appreciate it I will certainly look for the compression tights and hope the price is below RM200. And I hope I can find one below knee length (covers the knee). Thanks again everyone.

QUOTE(smallbug @ Jul 7 2009, 08:27 PM) Shahwan, why don't you get 3/4 sports pants? Bought them a few years back, and I can assure you they didn't cost more than RM50 (after discount) a pair on sale at RSH. Are they comfortable to run in? I would look into that. What brand?

How many of ya'll runnerz here participating in this weekend olympic day run? Wondering if someone could share a ride with me? We can split the toll/parking/gas/whatever costs. This seems farfetched, but I'll just take my chance asking u guys here. lol

QUOTE(d3vilzzzz @ Jul 9 2009, 04:32 PM) hw do u normally come to LG then? When I go to LG, I drive using my dad's car. I don't have a car. I only go there on Sats or Suns IF I am at my house (Setiawangsa). But now, since classes have started, I'm back in campus. So, yeah...bummer I can't find the time to go there frequently anymore. QUOTE(MrAlex? @ Jul 9 2009, 07:20 PM) Hey guys I'm new here. Wishing to join this runnerz thread. Anyway, I've started running yesterday, it was VERY hard! Consider that It's after 3 months of not doing any running. Btw I think I've only just ran 3 laps which is 600m only + 2 laps of walking to cooldown and warm up. When do you think I can run up to 8km straight if I train consistently? Let's say I do 4-5 days or running per week? Cheers. With the right motivation, the right attitude, well balanced diet, consistent.....1 month or less should do. That's how long it took me to run 10 km.
