The official Macross Frontier Website has announced that they will celebrate the original launching of the SDF Macross in the original anime with a launching of their own in Akihabara. In the original Chō Jikū Yōsai Macross, the ship that crash landed on earth in 1999 was launched in 2009, specifically February, thus being the catalyst of the adventure that will take Ichijou Hikaru to space.
The event, which is dubbed “Macross: The Super Dimension Space Launching Ceremony ~It’s Really 2009 Already…It’s 2/22 (Nyan Nyan Nyan), Deculture!~.” will be showcasing some of the original staff and cast members from the various Macross series (Original, Plus, Zero, Seven and Frontier).

yep, megaroad, i wud like to know what happen.... hope that there will
be some mentioning or a series or a movie that answer this, it has been
so many years of unanswered question. I hope that they wouldn't just
die or crash or something, if its a happy one, i'd say they found a planet
and settle down. it sure is interesting if there a series telling stories of
new macross where involve hikaru's child and minmay's child,
since they cant be together, maybe their child can,
