dual core @ > 3.0GHz should be sufficient for gamin. if u upgrade now u mite need to change mobo as well, not a wise choice if u have limited $$$ but if u got a deep pocket, i'd say now is d suitable time to play w/ amd quaddies. highest end phenoms are available as low as RM600, tonnes of sb750 boards available now @ affordable price. 
deneb will be available in another 2~3 months time last time i read, not so sure bout d exact availability date thou. 

get a 9850/9950 b.e chip to play, it can last u until d denebs become available.

d board sure looks a beauty... but don't fooled by d silent otes, proper nb & chipset cooler can do d job better. nvidia's chipsets are usually hot.

I'm using that to test oc in windows.
Then set in BIOS when it gets alright. I can save some on rebooting.

clockgen is out i think (it's quite old software which work well w/ s939 & earlier am2 chipsets). since ya board is of newer chipset, u can try d latest version of AOD. ur on dual core so it shouldn't give u much problem, it will only gives u headaches if ur on locked phenoms (older version).
