Oh yer, to all Biostar TA790GX users, do u have any prob with heat at the mosfets coz from the pics on the net the mobo doesn't have any heatsink or any cooling solution on the mosfet..
Kinda scare if it goes kaboom or something if i o/c..

d combo will do just fine, all u need to do is to sink d mosfets if u plan to oc d b.e chip, which all of us know are hotter than those 95w phenoms.  smile.gif
*
Any other mobo's that fit my bill which has heatsink on it's mosfet??

QUOTE(lepo @ Oct 11 2008, 09:55 AM)
guys,

i just bought msi k9a2 cf
how to setting this mobo aa,so different with abit
i just manage to oc to 2.95Ghz,higher than that pc wont boot up
abit ax78 can go untill 3.3Ghz but syg, mobo sent to rma
i had tried lower the HTlink, cpu voltage still using the default and ram divider i set to 667Mhz

can someone who use this mobo help me...
*
Ur using the newer CF ver2.0 or d old one??
My CF ver1.0 mobo i need to relax the ram timings, pump up the ram volt to 2.0v, cpu to 1.375v, FSB 210 n cpu multi at 15 can only then oc to 3150mhz..
Higher than that i donno my mobo would be just too unstable.. Even at 3150mhz it is not stable during superpi..
It could be my settings are wrong but i'm just too damn lazy to try other configuration more.. tongue.gif
I'm already happy running at 3ghz.. smile.gif

yalo.. more suitable to put blow in(blow toward proc) type cooler oni.. sad.gif
i prefer get a blow out(blow to bhind) type.. blive will hv beter air flow than blow in type..
so mayb js go to xigmatec sd964 hmm.gif
*
The only drawback with xigmatek sd964 that i think is that the hsf can only be mounted vertically, which means the hot air would be blowing up towards the PSU..
I kinda like my old HyperTX2 which blows to the back which coincidentally just where my rear exhaust fan sits inside my oldie CM Praetorian case.. wub.gif
I'm itchy to try o/c my cpu but just can't yet since i haven't gotten my hands on any ramsinks to be paste on my mobo pwm's.. sweat.gif

cant put horizontal meh? i put mine horizontally blows the air backwards..  here the ss

EDIT: Maybe position of the bracket on ur mobo different from mine.. if that so than u need to buy another mounting kit..
*
Ur mobo clip is on side ways so it point the HSF horizontally.. but my TA790GX has its clips at the top and below soooo the hsf would be directed vertically..
I even try it on my old K9A2-CF and same as my biostar it would be mounted vertically too..

EDIT: Yup i think its all about the bracket too.. Have to check 1st the bracket on ur mobo before any decision, i didn't know.. smile.gif

mean which type bracket will make it put as horizontal??
my mobo can or nt?

[attachmentid=633245]

as the red frame is the way to put pin... will this can make it blow out(toward behind)?
*
Woops.. I didnt look at the pic carefully, As u mark there the retention clips hook on that mobo is not at the side..
My mobo hooks are at the top n bottom same as yours, so it would blow up not to the back.. sad.gif

Nvidia chipsets are like that..
My old NF570 Sli mobo si also like that, u can feel the heatiness..
But i donno bout the newer chipsets though, should be much cooler due to the lower nm manufacturing process..

I'm still blur2 about the bunch of settings needed to be done in o/cing a phenom.. Much harder to understand than ocing X2's.. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
I know 9850 could be oc'ed higher but still i'm not comfortable with my mobo's pwm yet, don't want it to suddenly go pop sizzle n crack.. sweat.gif sweat.gif
