memset can use for all, if htt related, it's either clockgen (for older chipsets) or aod (try @ ya own risk... )

joke aside, i don't have any quaady w/ me, so i can't justify how stable d new aod is. but lotsa 790fx + sb750 users in xs are givin "not bad" comment bout it.

& overclockin a 6000+ to 3.4GHz mite not as simple as u think... heat would be ya main concern, especially cpu temp...

i played w/ 5600+ b4, it's not an easy task to bring d chip from 2.8GHz to 3.1GHz, let alone a 400MHz as what u targeted... all i can say bout those higly binned chips is they're almost at their best ledi @ their stock voltage, any higher u gotta need some amount of voltage which directly mean u need better than average coolin (which i didn't have)... just my 2 cents thou...

for nb multi to be effective (as what u've set in bios), u gotta do a cold boot(shutdown). not restart. this is what u'll do, set d desired multi, save & exit. press d power button when ya system start postin. leave it few seconds, then boot into windows, voila... u got ya nb multi changed...

nightmare playin w/ d 790gx a2+?

u'll luv d board once ur comfortable w/ it, d only drawback (for me) is d position of cmos jumper. it's located rite below d primary pcie 16x slot. kinda troublesome if u need to clear cmos.

imo, d clear cmos jumper should be placed near d external start/reset buttons, it's d most accessible area.

biostar = decent oc + value for $$$. if biostar = geng, then what u'll say bout dfi (yes, i'm one bias b@st@rd ) or asus or foxconn?

get a gx a2+, it's a decent oc board that won't burn holes in ya wallet, else, dfi ftw...

i doubt there'll be big diff in price for d 2, most likely RM20~30 cheaper only. but heck, why pay more if u don't really use d sideport mem rite? to be honest, asus seems to be more powa in oc now (thanks to it's new 790fx + sb750 & not forgettin d 8 + 2 power phase ). it's still too early to judge thou coz dfi just launched their new series of board not so long ago. built quality wise, asus win hands down (asus @ 8+2 vs dfi & others @ 4+1), but that indicates more $$$ needed too...

d combo will do just fine, all u need to do is to sink d mosfets if u plan to oc d b.e chip, which all of us know are hotter than those 95w phenoms.

i believe we don't have user here who is on 790gx a2+ & b.e chip. bear in mind that u don't really need those supa expensive mobo just to have their beatiful (but not necessarily effective) nb/mosfets cooler. if there's a will, there's a way. this was what i did w/ my ex 790gx a2+. other than sinked d mosfets w/ those coolers attached, i hang a 6cm fan on top of 'em just to cool 'em more effectively. these coolers barely get very hot w/ d setup. but ofcoz i was usin a 95w phenom only back then...

i believe it's more on psu issue rather than board issue. we had a bro here who blown mosfets on his ta770 board, d fault is on his psu.

am not a ram expert so i save it to others to comment, but imo d trfc & trc can be tightened a 'lil. perhaps it's other things (i.e imc) or ya oc setup is hinderin ya ram oc.

yup, & most importantly get 'em actively cooled.
