d problem w/ cm mid tower casings is d width, that's one of d reason why i went for lian li recently. my praetorian which had served me well for d past 3 years (apart from not bein able to accommodate big @ss coolers) goin to be traded w/ a true...

QUOTE(sharkeer @ Oct 17 2008, 11:56 AM) huge is ok, but tall is no no... QUOTE(cdlim87 @ Oct 17 2008, 12:02 PM) yalo.. more suitable to put blow in(blow toward proc) type cooler oni.. blow down type can cool other components as well, give & take loh... i prefer get a blow out(blow to bhind) type.. blive will hv beter air flow than blow in type.. so mayb js go to xigmatec sd964 QUOTE(cloudwan @ Oct 17 2008, 12:41 PM) The only drawback with xigmatek sd964 that i think is that the hsf can only be mounted vertically, which means the hot air would be blowing up towards the PSU.. did u mod ya side panel mate? i blew 2 holes at d side (near hdd there, rite above sb area), makin my transparent window looked a bit cacat (but gud enuf to cool d nb which integrated w/ sb during nf4 era). I kinda like my old HyperTX2 which blows to the back which coincidentally just where my rear exhaust fan sits inside my oldie CM Praetorian case.. I'm itchy to try o/c my cpu but just can't yet since i haven't gotten my hands on any ramsinks to be paste on my mobo pwm's.. Added on October 17, 2008, 12:45 pm Lucky u, i bought my SD964 at RM149.00 QUOTE(sharkeer @ Oct 17 2008, 12:50 PM) RM149? abit overprice lucky u to have such bracket... xigmatek really ignore amd users coz most of their tower cooler are blow up (instead of blow out) type... cant put horizontal meh? i put mine horizontally blows the air backwards.. here the ss EDIT: Maybe position of the bracket on ur mobo different from mine.. if that so than u need to buy another mounting kit.. |

QUOTE(cdlim87 @ Oct 17 2008, 01:58 PM) oh... thn nid buy other kit for it if 1na put as blow backward... thn i will no more cheap.. d nearest u can get is thermalright s clip, but i'm not so sure d pressure will be as gud as normal clip. i have one which i used it b4 on hp-1204, gonna use it again on my upcomin true. mayb js go to a blow in type de as gemin II S or geminII will ok i thk... QUOTE(8tvt @ Oct 17 2008, 02:05 PM) i thought when noctua use screw abit leceh.. but atleast still can customize the orientation.. lucky me.. change different mobo also still ok.. yeah, noctua is like scythe, can orientate d cooler 360'... that's one of d reason why i luv scythe coolers for mild/moderate oc setup (but too bad i dun think they're gud enuf to handle heat monster like amd quaadies, esp those 125w chips). QUOTE(sharkeer @ Oct 17 2008, 02:18 PM) as mentioned, windsies have lower latency than brisbies which make 'em better. but if u can do a 3.2GHz w/ < 1.45v, i think brisby will have lower temp (thou u'll have no idea wat's d real temp since brisbies come w/ spoilt dts This post has been edited by ah_khoo: Oct 17 2008, 02:22 PM |

QUOTE(MENCHELSEA @ Oct 17 2008, 11:00 PM) also already try , cannot . dont know what wrong. this is not because it can't boot, u gotta change d ht link width = 16. iirc when u got d error message, d ht link will automatically switch to auto or 8. u gotta manually change it back to 16 then d u'll get a normal boot after that...
