Rebuild of Evangelion (ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版 Evangelion Shin Gekijōban?, lit. "Evangelion New Theatrical Version") is an announced tetralogy of animated films in the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion.

In September 2006, the October edition of the Japanese anime magazine Newtype first reported that the new cinema series "Rebuild of Evangelion" would be released in the summer of 2007. On September 9, 2006, GAINAX's official website confirmed that "Rebuild of Evangelion" will consist of four movies. The first three movies will be an alternate retelling of the TV series (including many new scenes, settings, backgrounds, characters), and the fourth movie will be a completely new conclusion to the story; the series is intended to be much more understandable and accessible to non-fans than the original TV series and movies.

Movie 1: ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:序 Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo (Evangelion New Theater Edition: Preface)/EVANGELION:1.0 YOU ARE (NOT) ALONE

Movie 2: ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:破 Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha (Evangelion New Theater Edition: Breaking Up)/EVANGELION:2.0 YOU CAN (NOT) ADVANCE

Movie 3: ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:急 Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Kyū (Evangelion New Theater Edition: Rush)/EVANGELION:3.0

Movie 4: ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:? Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: ?/FINAL

Well, will they still have promise sex = death scene? We will see. The good news is nearly all the old seiyuus have been confirmed for this new release.
Weird enough, Asuka is not in the movie poster. But that maybe because the first movie will end with episode 6 of the series, and Asuka only appear in episode 8. While Kaworu's appearance will be pushed back to the first movie.

More like a move to appease fans that are whining about the americanised live action movie. Also more Shinji X Asuka this time around than in the series

Hmm, rumours from NewType is that the final movie will center around and narrated by a female characther named Ikari. And leaked design shows that she looks like Asuka, thus this might be the daughter of Asuka and Shinji

Lol, I took for granted that Hayashibara Megumi voiced not only Rei, but also Ikari Yui and Pen-Pen, but I was amazed when she was also listed down as the voice actor for "EVA-01: Berserk Mode"

dude, Claire's fly me to the moon was a classic and still is on my playlist even after those years. It had everything you want in that song, Jazz, seductive, those haunting piano melody.
Oh, and Utada's version was not made for this anime, but she sang that song in her second album years ago.

I still prefer Claire tho, Utada's version is too upbeat for my taste. Claire's was haunting and sad and really fit the Eva pilot's state of mind

There is no 2nd eps, just movie. Read teh first post. It will be released movie by movie with the 3rd and the 4th showing at the same time. The first movie will be shown this year, the second in 2008 and the 3rd and 4th will be either in '09 or '10

Kaworu's appearance in the original anime was too short for Anno's liking so he's bumping him earlier. Mainly this is because in the alternate universe of Shin Seiki Evangelion Koutetsu no Girlfriend (the alternate universe in ep 26), Kaworu has always been with Shinji since childhood.
Well, tsunderekko is a bit late for my liking, but her impact on Shinji after that what's develop the ending for Eva, so it can't be helped.

meh, for me watch up to ep 24, the watch End Of Evangelion. Then watch ep 25 and 26. End of Eva and 25 and 26 happened at the same time, although 25 and 26 are in Shinji's mind.
