I have both WD 1TB Green & WD 1TB Caviar black.

WD Black have 5 year warranty

WD Green have 3 year warranty

Wondering which one should be the backup drive ?
Not running any raids, as my mobo doesnt have a raid controller build in.
Usually i just do a manual backup via Cobian Backup 9.

Which do you think should be the backup drive ?

for wd green drives, how will it perform if i use as my main os drive?
*
I wouldn't recommend you on using green drive if you're a performance freak.

Get a WD 640AAKS also known as WD 640 Blue

Its really fast for your main OS, i would say the rank for OS speed

1. SSD / Raid 0
2. WD Raptor's
3. WD 640 Blue
4. Samsung F1

all based on my opinion smile.gif your can do your research

Anybody buying a WD10EARS will need Vista or Win7 for a hassle free experience, with the exception of cloning that still has an issue. To use Windows 5.x (2K, XP, 2K3, WHS) on it, you'll need to use WD's Align utility.

Does anybody have the benchmarks for it?

Benchmark prolly this week smile.gif
