i don't think so can wo.. because the HDD important information such as SN, PN, capacity... etc. are record in each HDD information chip. if you replace with the same MODEL the Serial Number & Part Number doesn't match . unless those 2 HDD PCB board are same SN & PN.
i think it still can on, but can't detect>>

ermm, Transcend are for fast data transfer & Western Digital are talk about Stable...

Rite now, my another 6 years old rig still using 40GB WD HDD fine.
