lok3i,

if u look back on your question i quoted @ the very beginning ur referring to the F3..

thus any size would taking place regardless what ever name they used to be..
lol the F3 itself not even stated on the label..

everybody can google..
if u ever knew the F3 performance is quite the same despite rated @ difference rpm.. not like wd..
that's the most important info u should know..
*
Let me explain to u laa..

Spinpoint F3 for 500GB and 1TB only coz has 7200rpm speed
Spinpoint F3 EcoGreen (F3EG) for 1.5TB and 2TB coz has 5400rpm speed

The famous one is F3 500GB and F3 1TB coz its fast

try ur self..

LOL..my point is:

1. Spinpoint F3 500GB and F3 1TB is fast..
2. But, F3 EcoGreen 1.5TB and 2.0TB is just like WD Caviar Green 64MB..(use 500GB platter and running at 5400rpm)

so, your statement is not true..
"F3 performance is quite the same despite rated @ difference rpm"

Seagate confirms 3TB drive for late 2010

QUOTE
Seagate has officially confirmed that it will introduce a 3TB drive later this year. In a chat with Thinq, Seagate's Senior Product Manager Barbara Craig confirmed the plans and noted that getting to 3TB is not as easy as it seems.

Due to logical block addressing (LBA) limitations inherited from DOS, it is impossible to increase storage size beyond 2.1TB without introducing a new LBA standard. Seagate did just that, by extending LBA to Long LBA addressing and increasing the number of bytes used to define addresses. However, Long LBA is not supported by older operating systems, such as Windows XP. Hence, only Vista and Windows 7 users can hope to use the new drives.

This might not sound like a major issue, as most users have already migrated to more recent operating systems, but booting from the new drives is also troublesome. Most current motherboards can't cope with Long LBA due to BIOS and controller limitations. Despite this, Craig is optimistic and believes the industry will embrace the new standard by year's end.

Ordinary consumer doesn't want this.

As current 80GB SSD cost RM700-900 to own one as compared sub Rm200 for ordinary HDD as OS hardisk in a new built.
The difference is too huge and costly to ordinary consumer market.

What most like to see is 80GB price drop down 50% to Rm300-400 range, which become more affordable.
Not the like 160GB cost Rm700 (same with 80GB previously) but 80GB they obsolete it instead the price drop 50% to Rm300-400.

Ordinary consumer just want SSD for as OS disk to capitalise its performance.
People are not interested in using SSD as a storage disk.

*
Yes..i will wait for that day to came.. want to use ssd for OS..
