can't say how long can it support when connected to pc... many ppl left their external HDD connected to pc everyday... it should not be a problem since its design for mostly laptop user who dont have big HDD space...

I have both WD 1TB Green & WD 1TB Caviar black.
WD Black have 5 year warranty

WD Green have 3 year warranty

Wondering which one should be the backup drive ?
Not running any raids, as my mobo doesnt have a raid controller build in.
Usually i just do a manual backup via Cobian Backup 9.
Which do you think should be the backup drive ?

Black is quiet, won't notice the driver running smile.gif

But its more hotter then Green by 8'c or 10'c

i think green shall do well for you.. save energy since that backup drive mostly is idle... just my point of view.. smile.gif

hi,

i bought a WD HDD 1TB caviar Green just now at RM 276, worth it? I did format, partition and now its running smoothy, but i wan to know that iisit alright to touch the side of the HDD with the chip side? becuase i touched it when i was installing the HDD. and another thing is, is there any difference betwen caviar blue and green, in terms of performance.

TY~

yeap Performance: Blue > Green | Energy Saving: Green > Blue... so for me i will choose blue as main OS drive and green as storage drive.. smile.gif
