Unfortunately it turned out that particular SSD at RM 999 is using the old flawed JMicron controller. We shouldn't buy it.

I didn't know that Kingston had also produced a 128GB 'V' using that controller and thought it was the V+ that used Toshiba's controller.

I just installed my WD Scorpio Black 7200 RPM 16MB cache. I'm new to HDD benchmarking and stuff, so please tell me if the scores below or OK or not. Thanks

Hmm.... I don't think so.....
First time using quick format with install WinXP is take up to 50min

Within week by week, i become slow and slow via copy, paste document or install software......

And 1 month later.... it totally become like a snail.... -.-"

So I try repair the window.... but resulting failed.... because it will to copy WinXP file into the HDD....

So I use up about 2 hours.. to format....

If as you said..... 1 TB need that much time..... then 2 TB sure need double of the time 

For the HDD.... I had warranty for a new unit but haven't use it because I already install 160GB Caviar Blue....

As I gone through few website.... they had stated that Caviar Green have many problem.

First time yes... but second time nope.....
That really trouble if really need that much time....
If in future, there is 10TB.... then i have spent 20hours only for format 

What will be the software that you would recommend?

Yes you are rite but is 64 meg cache..... So I would like to make sure whether any of you had any problem on this HDD.... and at the same time could acknowledge everyone here not to buy this version

Sure... the version is WD10EARS.
Yup is 64MB cache.
Green Label.
I donno whether other Green caviar have the same problem or not..... 

If you are on a higher budget ,go for WD Black(there is a newer version recently?).

speedwise i think samsung spinpoint still wins over caviar black, Caviar black new version only has 64mb cache, and new choices of 3.0 gbps sata or 6.0 gbps.

Is the problem of Samsung Spinpoint F3 with SB850 only occurs if we update the firmware of the Samsung Spinpoint F3?

By the way, the links show that it's not Samsung Spinpoint F3 having high RMA rates.   
It's like Samsung Spinpoint F3(with newest firmware) have incompatibility problem over AMD SB850 Chipset only.
