Sifus, I'm a newbie and have browsed through v1-v8 of this thread. Still cannot find an answer to my question. Please advise:

Thinking of getting a ps3 to play games and watch blu-ray films.
Is it true that for films, ps3 matches the quality of most standalone blu-ray players?
Is it true that ps3 sold at sony centre can only play asia-region games and films? Any way to unlock?
How to make sure that the BD film I am buying is region-free? Does it say so on the box / website?
