This is interesting but the load on demand map (googlemap) which drives ur $ with 3G still a headache issue..

Really cross finger some developer done it.....tomtom(Apple say no) or Garmin (have their own phone why Iphone)

Hi, have tried the Sygic map from my fren(via u "know wat" way)
this map really bad, I can't even get Sunway from the address search!

Added on July 1, 2009, 11:05 pmbtw, since IPhone is a A-GPS , I noticed each time I open the app and look for signal it cost me bout 1kb of data transfer (getting cell tower info). So it isnnt' really "free" at all.

1 good thng bout sygic application, is that it ll show arrow on which track u shall keep on.

I tried it again on North South HighWay last week. There is a small box show 3 arrows up (indicate 3 ways) but oni the one is in green color.

However, the cons part: lack of POI and troublesome searching function

Let me ask bout my fren on the data usage (Phone history shows there is 2kb data usage but not sure on billing part)

I tried disable 3G,EDGE but with Data roaming switch on
it works well (but still data usage).

however it seems not a perfect solution (wireless transmitter adaptor can't fit properly due to the size of the holder cliper and it shakes.....when ur car moving

Hmm yes I am aware of this that data roaming is oni useful when u outta countery.

But I am not sure why, if I left the the Data Roaming turn off (+ 3G off) then the GPS is unable to get the signal.

The first I thought the Sygic will be a perfect solution for when travelling abroad (since I have a garmin with me). But again, the data usage to the get the signal of cell tower, is unconfirm charge $ or not.
