Try to download the map using different zoom level.. Instead of 0, try 1 or 2. Then try not select all zoom level. Select only a few.

For myself, i downloaded with zoom level 3 and 16. It's only 300mb. But i will probably download it again, as zoom level 3 is not detailed enough. Try zoom level 1 or 2. Hope it helps ^^
