I got this FM transmitter and I'm quite happy with it. I'll just give a quick review:
- in terms of sound, of course you won't get CD quality playback but it's much better than radio. This is provided you set it to a frequency which is not used by radio companies or other fm transmitters (I kena this before when driving to close to another car).
- the car holder idea is pretty cool but one issue I have is that when plugged into the lighter slot, the car holder is not stable and will slide from left to right when you turn on corners. However, i fixed this by purposely putting the holder vertically on the coin holder tray. This not only make the holder stable, it is also cool when using the iPod function (album pics will pop up).
- the best thing I find about this car holder is that you can make calls and receive calls without a bluetooth handset. When in a call, the sound will be transmitted to your fm channel and play from there. You can talk handfree. Unless you're alone in the car, others also can hear what they other side is saying.
To sum things up:
Price: I paid RM180 for it at Digital mall. Another friend of mine got it at RM125 at Lowyat.
Pros:
- cool design
- can charge your iphone while driving
- can be used as fm transmitter
- it is a car holder
- can make handfree calls with sounds being played back to your stereo system
Cons:
- when plugged in, tends to swing left to right. Not stable when cornering.
- the joints are a bit weak but not big issue
- can be quite pricey depending on where you get it
