I was looking for a FM transmitter too earlier. I've read too many reviews that most FM transmitter in the market that it's susceptible to static and noise due to interference with other FM channels.

The advise from those people who bought an FM transmitter is to get a car player with a iPOD support (via USB).

I did that and now i'm happy with my new car player which can charge my iPhone too !

I will still recommend a new car player unless your current car player is a high end one that does not comes with iPod / iPhone support. Then obviously it's not wise to change.

My new car player is rm670 from Pioneer with iPod / iPhone support. Very happy with it. Charges my iPhone as well, just use the normal USB charge cable from iPhone.

I've asked around and the cheapest for iPod / iPhone support players is around 500+. It's a cleaner solution (no additional parts in your car besides a cable - that u can put in your glove box) + better sound quality.
