Split the hard disk into 2 partitions and install your Windows.

Two Windows Ultimate installations?

Just install one of those and then make two accounts is better if you ask me.

If you need to repartition your hard disk, there are variety of software from fdisk to Computer Management (Disk Management) all the way to Partition Magic that will allow you to do it.

I use Ranish Partition Manager. The version that comes with System Rescue CD http://www.sysresccd.org/.

Not sure about Vista, but IINM, if installing XP, it will detect any existing Windows on the hard disk, and somehow "link" to it. So you don't end up with 2 independent copies. If you delete one partition, the other stops working.

What I do is, create 2 partitions. Write down the locations (c-h-s). Install partition 2. Then delete partition 2. Install partition 1. Recreate partition 2 (exactly at the location written down later).

yeah, have 2 partitions. better than having 2 version of windows in the same partition. having 2 windows in the same c drive will cause problems, and confusion too if you don't know which is which. so safest is to have 2 partitions in your hdd.
