The guy above me is a DOTARD.

DOTA is fine as a game but I would prefer hugging and being sweet to my gf over DOTA anytime biggrin.gif

One more shitty crap from the dotards.Im gonna PM mods to close this.

Im sick of seeing people claiming playing games will improve english, makes you a better thinker, improve your maths etc.

It's just games.Just like movies or music,it's just something call entertainment that keep you happy.

For f***ing gawd sakes,if you want to improve your maths,go do more maths questions.Understand the concepts. It's not like playing some games gonna give me a HD in maths because Sins of Solar Empire taught me how to do second order differential equations. It just wont happen.Same thing for other things, read a good book to improve your language.

I have been playing games for more than 10 years.Does it make me better person? No. There are other factors that make me to be a better person.

Dont be such a retard thinking that playing games will improve yourself.

The whole topic has derail from it's original topic anyway. It's another dota flame fest.

Believe it or not, me and a bunch of friends have got our English significantly improved ever since we started to play MUD game (text based game) when we were form 1. One of them was at the failing level where everyone else (mostly foreigners) in the game would go super LOL as he spoke in the game. After playing that game for about one year, not only did he improve his English from failing to scoring A's consistently, we've also got to improve our typing speed to a nice level which is obviously useful when it comes to doing any computer based assignments/projects. I'd believe if you tell me it's bullshit that you can improve your Maths by playing DOTA but it is 100% possible that one who is weak at English can actually improve the language in an easier way when it happens to be the right game.
