Hey, finally an on-topic thread. I recently bought a mountain bike from Carrefour. Thing is, I need to buy some fenders and maybe light for my bike. Problem is, Carrefour doesn't have them, and I don't know where to buy bicycle parts and accessories. I'm in Cyberjaya, so any ideas can help. If shops are in KL, where specifically? I can travel to KL Sentral. From there, where are the recommended shops?

Thanks!

I think RM300-RM400 can only get u those china made ~15-18gears bike..which u can hardly climb a hil!!..Try to increase your budget & get ~RM800 bike such as Proton T-bolt wth full Shimano 27gears (3X9) & u're gamed for MTB..

For Bicycle shops other than KL u can get from:

Puchong area (Budget below RM1000..they even selling those RM200 type):
1) Bikeshop at Puchong Perdana -N3 00.156 E101 36.539 (That's where I got my MTB
2) No name bike shop at Puchong Indah - N3 00.798 E101 36.280

USJ & Subang Jaya:

1) SS14 near to Caltes station -N3 04.360 E101 35.247
2) Taipan (Rodalink : http://www.lerun.com.my/Shops-Rodalink_Chain_Store.htm

PJ (mostly hi-end shops- budget >RM2000):

1) Joo Ngan Son - Damansara Uptown (Beside Village nasi Lemak -N3 08.264 E101 37.402
2) Bike Pro SS24 -N3 06.832 E101 36.712 (probably the most famous among all the bike shops in KL) Opposite Mientien FC
3) KSH Near to Tmn Bahagia RapidKL: N3 06.741 E101 36.697 http://www.kshbikes.com/

KL:
1) KSH -Jln Bangsar -
& more

2 weeks ago, I bought my bike at Bike World (or Bicycle World at Jalan Bandar 1 @ Taman Melawati) with 2 shop lots which is one of the biggest bicycle that i have visited so far..TTDI / USJ / Jalan Ampang / Desa Sri Hartamas..
I bought myself Raleight Elite Disc / Alloy Series that comes with 27 speeds / front suspension / front n rear disc brake..rm1600
very solid bike and I have been riding at my hometown and also around Puchong area..

yes, i bought a Thule Freeway bike carrier too..

very friendly owner and variety of bike and accessories there from basic few hundred to more than 15k bike :-)

Hi all, I bought my first bike recently in Shun chi cycle located in Puchong, Taman damai. Just to share my own experience. Before buy he promised good after sales service. But once you bought nightmare begin. Bike got problems. Said no warranty. If you really want to buy there please be extra caution. Check the price with other shops before you buy. I bought it for 1200 but I found out other shop selling at rm700 only same model and same specs. Because I didn't compare and I didn't know much about bicycle that time.

I think it's easy to get same bike spec as the diamondback.

But if you are looking for this model I don't think so it's available in KL

Avoid the one in USJ4

I recently have a bad experience with the bicycle shop in USJ4.
My son broke his bicycle rear gear shift and I called them, inquiring whether they can change the rear shifter. The owner’s son picked up the phone and said the shifter is out of stock. I then asked him if I were to take the ‘part’ there, would you be willing to change it for me since you have no stock. He answered, yes, at RM30 for labor charges. I said fine, and when I get the shifter next week I will bring the bike to the shop for it to be repaired. The son final words were, ok but you will have to leave the bike here and will take time to repair. I said then, OK thanks.
Come next week after getting the replacement shifter I took my son’s bike to the shop. To my dismay and shock the owner’s son said, this shifter is not from my shop and we can’t replace it for you. Then I told him I called last week and you told me you can do it (as above). He denies everything, and now said we have stock for this item. To cut the argument short, I said since you have the stock, I will use your replacement shifter. His reply really blew me, the owner son’s said, ”you can take your bike and have it fixed somewhere else”
Do you think this sort of business practice and behavior is acceptable? In my nearly half a century of life I have not come across this sort of business attitude, I guess the saying is correct once business is too good it’s get into your head and you become big headed.
Some of my neighbors also complain the owner very ‘lansi’ and the prices are sky high and better buy somewhere else. I have indeed learned my lesson here which I should have learned from my neighbor.
