That is normal for Prescott based, mine with Big Typhoon + 12cm fan. +/- 1300rpm, temp is around 40-45'c (depend on weather tongue.gif), as long as full load don't exceed 60'c that is fine.

Wanna keep that monster below 40'c?

1. Water cooling
2. XP120 + 12CM Delta (5-6k rpm full blown)

Choose 1. laugh.gif

@Edmin
Haven't give ur surprise out? laugh.gif

@Kabu

Biasa with Delta 12CM full blown liao.. I have 2x behind me now (work place, use on server rack exhaust fan). Once server temp is up, and it will start blow full speed.. Fuuyoh! U get will crazy with the sounds. The rack will vibrate also.

P/s: My GTS were G92 based. Nothing much diff with GTX260. brows.gif Somemore, GTX260 actually is a re branding version of 8800 G92 series. Just add in more SP, pump more mhz for core/mem/sharder + smaller die. Afterall, not worth for me to make a jump now as there is no diff. Unless i shot to GTX295 then diff story. Im aiming for LCD and sound system now. Tengah runding ngam edmin.. whistling.gif

Hah.. Still the same old speech. "don't buy if it is not needed". laugh.gif GTX295? Next quarter u will see GTX395 liao. Haha.. Not worth la. And dont need to buy. Now using Audigy 2 ZS..

@Kabu
Yea. But GTX260 better as it has better SP (stream processor) and higher clock for all the element in core/mem/sharder. But afterall, not a heavy gamer anymore. More into fish! laugh.gif For me, old tech nvm as long as it is kicking. laugh.gif Btw, my card is damn hot la. Idle with auto spd control can hit 75'c.. Hahah!

Bro honestly, are u trying to fry ur processor? sweat.gif: Seems like u like stress your proc. tongue.gif

Btw, most of P4 processor thermal specification is below 70'c. So better keep ur proce temp safe below 70'c. Else life spend might be degraded. sweat.gif

With giant cooler and the temp is still around 60 during full load is abit over. My previous P4 setup not much diff with yours beside my PSU were planted outside of the casing. Its very pack as well, but my temp never goes more then 60'c on 100% stress/blend. The most is 55-57'c.

Did u try to touch the HSF? How was it? Can cook egg? laugh.gif

1. Sensor faulty
2. Thermal grease problems (too much, too less, bad quality type)
3. HSF in not properly sitted / placed

Yea. That is what im thinking off as well.. But only can clarify the problem if bai touched the HSF. Haha.. Like what used to happen to 1st batch Q6600. The processor internal temp sensor never show the accurate temp. Temp can go below -0'c. laugh.gif

@Ray
Yea.. It was. Is the internal chip sensor having problem. Where it will read more / less then the actual one. Very funny. I think is the ES version that has this problem.

P/s: Saw the article before long time ago.. But dont mange to dig it out. sad.gif
