when i was putting everything together i kinda pictured the right part of the screen to have some revolving add widgets to accompany the must have playasia link (up to 12% commission oooh)
perhaps i'd cook up some 'fake' adds and stick them there instead hmm.gif
problem is the blogspot slideshow resizes to 150x150 max init, and add widgets are often taller sad.gif

lol what makes you think that having ads will make you fit in with the 'big boys'
i think you may have a wrong perception on this tongue.gif
i despise blogs with endorsed ads in posts

well, almost eeryone here has some sorta advert in their blog brows.gif

on a more serious note, i like revolving adds as they make the page seem err... less static...

Blogspot widgets/page elements may be good for beginners but when you wanna customize it more, you'll have headache.

That's why ppl say Blogspot is for noob and WP is for pro, as you're basically have 99% control of the layout of your blog in WP.

If you want to make sure the ads look good, you might have to get a custom Blogger template and edit the codes one by one, which is the killer.

tell me about it vmad.gif
trying to get three columns was a real pain for a buta-html person like me

aren't there more specific adds, for instance mine's about gundams, figurines and other geeky otaku stuff, so adverts like playasia fits right in...

i am new to blogging and such but i am beginning to think that nuff nang isn't great if you do not generate much traffic. Mine's a hobby site, and as such i do not update it all that frequently, depending on how many models i actually complete. Traffic's slow but steady, around the 30 - 40 uniques a day but more often than not i only get a placeholder.
advertlets might have its share of problems, but at least i DO get an add. Like i've mentioned b4, i sorta factored the adds in when setting up the layout, and a placeholder SUCKS.

so although it is not 100% their fault, I've taken down the nuff nang add, will replace it with some custom made banners for local charities i feel passionate about instead. I do think btw that if either of the nuff nang and advertlet bosses are reading this, they should consider having 'charity' banners instead of placeholders.

also, the 200x200 adsense box has earned me more in one day than those two banners combined doh.gif

that's the thing init. nuff nang caters for high traffic blogs. can't really blame them, i personally don't think they have enough advertisers nor revenue to share around, but a little more effort instead of the placeholder will be much appreciated. Plenty of causes to champion in Malaysia, no?

I've decided to remove ALL adds on my page in hope of getting it to load faster - i have had no luck at all with the 'read more tags' sad.gif
